First American Home Warranty selected this contractor to evaluate and provide a work order for a major plumbing leak that flooded the basement in my rental property in Verde Valley. Over 1 month after the initial contact, Nichols failed to produce any estimates to ****. During that month, I actually authorized Nichols to install the damaged hot water heater in order to honor and secure a guest booking for the property. I was up-charged ($4500 for heater and install) due to my desperation to get the house useable again (I take full responsibility for this decision but still was taken advantage of by Nichols). After that install, there was no noticeable attempt by Nichols to assist in the additional plumbing repairs. In fact, during one contact, I was told that they closed the claim from First American, which I promptly requested them to continue. Subsequently, another contractor has been contacted due to the lack of follow-up and contact from Nichols. I do not recommend this company. Their communication is horrible and inconsistent (if it happens at all), timeliness is extremely poor, and their business ethics are suspect.Review from Heather K

Grateful for the service technician that came to my property and solved the issue with my AC unit after two other bidders looked at the job, they were able to fix it no problem without hassle or large expense. Would recommend.Review from Peggy S

Nichols came out and services our swamp cooler and was terrific. He was pleasant, courteous and answered all questions and even some questions relating to a newbie to mini splits.

They ordered the wrong unit. I called to ask if I had to wait another 6 weeks. I was very upset when I called to ask if there was anything they could do. The GIRL on the phone had a baby crying in the background, she became extremely RUDE that I was upset, started raising her voice at me and then hung up on me.Nichols Mechanical Response

Dear ******** was 7:47 a.m and I answered the phone before normal business hours. Your warranty company ordered the wrong equipment and you seem to think that that is our responsibility. My company did what was within our power to reason with them and ensure the right equipment was to be delivered, as well as having to spend time and shipping to return the wrong equipment back to the warranty company. Before I could even address your concerns, as I am one of the owners and only answer the phone after hours you started to demand that I find you scratch and dent equipment for you which is not something I can do per your contract with your warranty company. As soon as I said that that was not something I could you you curtly said "So you won't help me then". I asked for you to please calm down and you continued to talk over me. After another 10 seconds of this behavior I said " Okay, I'm done" and I hung up the phone. I was around my daughter who has been home running a 101 degree fever for 2 days. As I appreciate your opinion about my company, I would appreciate it if you addressed your concerns with your warranty company. Thank you.Nichols Mechanical
