To whom it may concern My wife and I drove five hours from Southern **********. We heard the weather was potentially going to be bad, But still we wanted to make the best of a weekend that we had available for celebrating our wedding anniversary. We reserved 2 nights , Thursday August 18 and 19.We didnt have a lot of expendable cash so using booking.com to get a reasonably priced room at the ********* Super8 ( ********** ) looked promising.When our room was available, we were initially knocked over by the strong, pungent, musty smell the room had. We could not open the windows to air it out fast enough. Frankly, after about 90 minutes we couldnt take it and we went to the front desk to ask if we could be moved to another room.The front desk complied but ******* told us they could not give us another room if this one did not meet with our approval.The new room had an equally strong aroma, this time due to strong cleaning chemicals throughout the bedroom and the bathroom .To make matters worse the handle bar in the shower was not secured and came off in our hands when we attempted to grab it to steady ourselves.By 2:30 AM the chemicals intensified to the point that we could not sleep , or for that matter, even breathe. My wife was gagging .Literally we packed our things and left the motel at three in the morning. We figured, since the front desk told us they would not comply with any more requests for a better room, we were given no choice but to leave.Please consider this a submission of complaint. I have stayed at other super 8 motels, and many Wyndham facilities over the years, and I can honestly say I have never encountered this kind of service. We tried to be gracious to the woman at the front desk, but they were firm in their take-it-or-leave-it attitude.I would like to see this resolved by a refund of my $220 .My frustration is I cannot make contact with the Super 8 owners. They have no posted email .
