In November of 2020, Evans Air Conditioning and Heating, LLC installed a Bosch high-efficiency heat pump at our house. They replaced a working unit that was 18 years old, but well-maintained. We were thrilled to have this new unit. On August 18th, 2021, I sent a text to ******* Evans, the owner of the company showing a bulging piece of drywall directly under the condensate pan of our unit. At 8:06pm on August 19th, the drywall fell down exposing my family to the wet insulation and unconditioned air in our attic. While he did have 2 different employees come out to look at the damage and evaluate the cause, they did not clean up the mess, or seal-off the ceiling from the rest of the house. No apology has ever been offered.******* sent a drywall repair company out a week later. They came to the house on August 26th to replace the drywall and apply texture to the repair area. When Evans removed the old, working unit, they also removed an overflow shut-off valve that had prevented any condensate from overflowing onto the drywall below the condensate pan. They did not replace the shut-off valve at the time of installation, and have refused to replace the valve, claiming it is not their responsibility.Despite my repeated requests, ******* has refused to paint the new drywall patch. He has continued to refuse to install a new overflow shut-off valve at his own expense. His last offer suggested I agree to release him from the remainder of his contract before he paints and installs the shut-off valve (even though in his experience the shut off valves have lots of false trips and nuisance failures). He will not finish the full repair with me agreeing to this condition.I just want to be treated fairly. I would like an apology for making my family breathe the unhealthy air caused by the damage. I do not want cash. I want Evans Air Conditioning and Heating to make this right.

Ceiling collapse was due to a plug in a drain that pre-existed the installation of the equipment.  This particular drain line was clogged with sediment however, we were able to get it cleared. 8 months later, the drain line was clogged and caused a water back up and overflow in the system drain pans.  When informed of the situation, we sent out a tech to evaluate the situation and clear the drain again (our warranty does not cover drain line clogs or drain maintenance on drains we did not install such as this one).  Even though this situation was not part of our warranty, we want to be a "good" contractor and help if we can.  We agreed with ************** to send out a drywall repair company and he stated he would take care of the painting.  After the drywall, repair was made, I received another call from *************** that we needed to do the painting.  She informed me they would not paint and this was our company's responsibility. I tried to explain our position, she hung up on me. 5 months went by and we hadn't heard anything so, I assumed they had kept the original agreement and painted it. I received another message that we needed to finish the painting of the room. After a few conversations, we agreed to paint the room and put in an overflow switch with the understanding that going forward, the drain maintenance would be their responsibility to keep up with and we would install an overflow switch at no cost but, it was not covered under the warranty.  Any issues or nuisance calls arising from false trips of the switch would have a service fee applied.  It appeared the customer was agreeable to this arrangement.  We left a message inquiring if it was okay to send the drywall company back to paint.  We received no response from the Luecks.

Bottom line is I am sorry this happened.  I do understand what a frustrating thing events like this can be.  I'm happy tp install the overflow switch and paint the bathroom.  I would love nothing more than to have this behind us.
