On the date of 07-04-2023 at approxiamently 12:05 PM I was walking on the south side of Quick Trip located at ********************************. In the unseen distance I heard an altercation. Once the altercation became visible, I was aghast at what I was witnessing! So much so I had to stop and watch in disbelief. An armed, contracted, security officer, for Quick Trip, had a man, half his size, pinned against the wall with his left hand on the man's clavicle and his right hand at his side balled into a fist, allegedly for shoplifting. The contracted, armed, security guard was yelling obscenities at the man as he remained docile with his head down.As a security professional who did contracted security for 10 plus years and for the past 8 years as an Assistant Security Director at a luxury resort, I've always been acutely aware that a security guard is NEVER, to put their on anyone EVER unless they're under attack and only then in self defense only.I, along with multiple customers, witnessed the rogue security officer, later we learned from Obsidian Security Solutions, assault the alleged shopifter continuously for about five minutes! So much so I had to yell at the rogue security guard attempting to bring him back to sanity but to no avail.The rogue security then almost drug the alleged shoplifter off the property using both of his hands on the man.The rogue security guard, who we learned later name is Officer ***** did not only everything opposite of the ** DPS security guard training on conduct, behavior, temperament, deescaltion techniques, and the laws regarding when a security guard can be physical with someone but he was clearly the aggressor, out of control, and again continuously assaulted some who posed no threat to him.In fact, the alleged shoplifter only attempted to try and defend himself when after the rogue Officer **** physically threw him off the property and then pushed him down.The security guard actions were appalling, reckless and dangerousBusiness response

to whom it may concern,
This complaint although has valid points, it doesn't depict the full picture as this information came from a passer ****. Our guard (Employee) was dealing with an already trespassed individual that was being non-compliant with request from our staff on duty. The guard escalated to an appropriate level and then subsided when able. The camera footage doesn't show all the antics described in the complaint and he is the only person that has filed any sort of complaint. The store and corporate do not have a complaint for us either. I am more than happy to take a call to further explain in more detail if necessary. ************
