I took my Boat to Bodnar Boat Works, for repairs. After explaining the concerns I had with the boat, the owner **** explained the process of repairing older boats. He said first thing to do is to do a yearly maintenance, and replace the prop and hub assembly, Quoting me $1,500.00, he said he would look over the boat and give me a quote for the additional work that will be needed to address my concerns.About a week later, I went to the shop and I asked **** after he walked me through all the work if this was all included for the $1,500.00? He apologized and concluded it wasn't, stating he should have called before doing the work, that there was a miscommunication and seemed genuinely upset about it. he said they were about 80% of the way done and gave me a second quote of $4,200.00. He felt there wouldn't be any other cost, and assured me if there was he would call first. I felt this was a honest mistake, even up set I agreed to the $4,200.00. he said the boat would be ready the next Monday for pick up and if there were any other issues he would call.I showed up to pick up the boat the next Monday, boat wasn't ready the front desk emailed me the bill and it was now $5,400.00. I called and asked her to talk with ****, and **** to make sure there were no mistakes. she said she would and would follow up with me. (she never did)upon pick up of the boat all work does seem to be completed as we had agreed under the $4,200.00 quote. The bill was still showing $5,400.00, After talking with the owner **** and comparing the quote to the bill, he found a host of things that were not on the quote. and I did not approve to be done. I was hoping that he would do the right thing being the business owner and he would at least honor the second estimate of $4,200 that I had agreed to. The shop had my boat and I Felt I had no choice but to pay the whole thing under duress.

Once his boat come into our line up we started repairs, and the customer was informed in person as he was at our shop working with our whole crew 5 or 6 times and we also made multiple phone calls to him  he would even bring us his own parts to install and we also received a parts check from him for  $2000 dollars on  Feb-9 th 2023. His boat had so many problems which he was fully aware of. The boat has hade  so much un -professional patching work done on it over the years that it just all caught up to the customer and that's why he finally brought it to a professional Dealer to have it repaired properly. His boat was very happy to be in our shop !!! and now he is the beneficiary of a good running boat that he did pay to get it fixed properly. We did a great job of keeping him up to date on what he needed and the price of every re-pair he wasn't adding it up in his head and that was his problem !!!  We are not giving him parts and labor for free !!                       The only thing we can give him for free is good advice       HAVE YOUR BOAT SERVICED EVERY YEAR BUY A PROFESSINAL      and that will keep *********** bills in check

Have a great and safe boating summer

I reject this, as the $2,000.00 deposit they. are refusing too, is the deposit from the second time I came down. To get an explanation on what was going on. **** (my understanding is he is the shop manager) Apologized multiple times, and acknowledged he should had called me. The only reason I agreed to the $4,200.00 dollars was because **** convinced me it was a genuine mistake. Not that the $2,000.00 would be a ok for the shop to go on a spending spree.

The parts were left in the boat from the very first visit, only Because the owner **** asked me to leave them there so I could get a accurate Quote.

Im not disputing that after I left the shop the second time I agreed to the $4,200.00.

As I stated in my first complaint, and I stated in ****'s office my frustration isn't with the pricing, it isn't with the ******* ship, it is that every time I went in the bill wasn't hundreds of dollars different than what was qouted it was THOUSANDS, and I do not believe I should be responsible for the $1,200.00 of work I did not approve.

The statement of "we called several times" show a call log, or something because I never received one call with the expiation of the time **** called me with **** on the phone to tell me they had already performed a bunch of work out side of our agreed upon work order. Even giving **** the benefit of the doubt that they did call, sense he never got a ok, or never talked to me, then that doesn't give him the automatic OK todo thousands of dollars of work with out consent.

The only work I ever gave the OK to do BEFORE it was done was the Yearly Maintenance, Prop, and Prop hub. The work that was included in the $4,200.00 I did agree too after it had been started and talking with ****, and being assured it was an honest mistake and he felt bad. the Extra $1,200.00 at pic up I was never informed of, nor did I Give permission to have done.

Customer is trying to pull a scam         . He was notified every step of the way during the repair prosses. He sat across my desk from me and I went over everything he told us to do. and explained to him how accurate the invoice is All the parts installed on his boat were need and he authorized them and **** did not apologize to him for anything. He received 5-star work and parts the problem is every time he added something else he was not adding it up or ******* it down. Every part we installed on his boat was needed for it to operate properly again.                   Bodnar Boat Works Considers this mater closed
