I was a member at this gym several years ago & cancelled my membership cause I moved out of state. Just recently they have started taking money out again and had me contact their financial company which is still unresolved. Id like my a refund and no more payments taken out.Initial Complaint

I enrolled in a month-to-month subscription back in August of 2021. i specifically enrolled with a month to month no contract plan for the purpose of canceling at anytime.In November of 2021, I went in person to cancel my membership. i spoke with an employee and they informed that i needed to do a 30 day notice. Which was not explained to me during enrollment. Therefore, i did comply, they told me my last payment would be 12/3/2021 once my 30 day cancellation notice is over.i made my last payment 12/3/2021 The day i went in to cancel i was told to call in the next day to make sure my account was pending cancel meaning once my last payment was made it would be finalized as cancelled/termed.Now my concern is that this company is wanting to continue charging me after my cancellation. I was told by a former employee that this company is known for taking their members money. If you look at the reviews you will see a variety amount of complaints about the same cancellation issue. the day i went in person to cancel was 11/04/2021 on that day i spoke to an employee and she admitted that a lot of people were canceling because of the shady stuff the owner has been doing.The employee also advised that i put a block on my debit card after making my last payment so this company no longer attempts to charge me. I did exactly that and contacted my bank on 12/3/2021 i made a phone call to Phoenix fitness 12/06/2021 to confirm my plan has been finalized as cancelled. I spoke with someone who i believe goes by the name Q (the owner) confirmed my account was pending cancel and that i had another payment in January! i complained and told them thats not what i was told and to confirm again. They were very bothered about the whole situation and did not go further in to helping me just told me what i wanted to hear. i hung up and now im proceeding to report them i will be following up in person to confirm my cancellation. Please help any future members From going here!
