On 08/13/2023 this company was assigned to resolve our HVAC issues through our warranty company "**** Home Warranty". That morning I called Seabreeze and spoke to a rep who had a technician come out that same day to conduct a diagnostics. During his inspection he stated he found a leak in our compressor and that the whole system would need to be repaired. He followed by stating that he would report his findings back to the warranty company and that we should have an update the following day. However, that has not occurred. I have called at least 4x my warranty company to inquire about the status of our ticket - if they have received any update from this company and until this present day (08/21/2023) they have not. Multiple emails and calls have been made to this company by my warranty company to no avail. Additionally, I contacted this company via phone last Thursday 08/18 and spoke to a female rep (did not get her name) who very rudely stating I just had to wait until they submitted their findings because they were still discussing it with upper management. Given that they claim on their website to have over 20 years of experience it should not take them over a week+ to have a diagnostics. However, when it comes to collecting their $100 diagnostic/service fee they are fast. This company appears to be incompetent and does not care about their paying customers. I would highly discourage anyone from hiring them as it is a waste of time and money. Please note that at this point I do not want them to fix our HVAC rather provide the diagnostic to our warranty company so that we may proceed with a different company.Business Response

Hello. We appreciate the feedback good or bad, it is part of the business but it is not fair when people twist the information and not tell the truth. This work order came on 8/14/23 and tech was there on the same day and diagnosed the problem. On 8/16/23 when we called to submit the report for Condenser replacement, we were told that report was not required and this work order was cancelled. $100 service fee collected is the part of the payment and that's the way HW pays us. Home warranty company requires a lot of information for replacement and reports are submitted in an order, we can not skip one customer to accomodate the other, secondly, HW company gives us time to compile report because they know it takes time. For refund this home owner needs to reach out to her home warranty company. Thank you.Initial Complaint

My ac went out 5/02/2023 I contacted my home owners home protective warranty company (ORHP) they sent out sea breeze cooling llc on 5/4/2023. I was informed that i would need a hard start kit that would cost me $280, "discounted just for today" reading other complaints i can see that it was a sales tactic. I called my uncle for advice, as well as turning to the internet, both leaning towards getting one installed. Fast forward to 6/4/2023, the same unit with the hard start kit is out, (i have 2 units and only installed it on 1). I had to rush daughter to ER for her fever, by the time I was able to contact ORHP i was out of the 30 day warranty. (6/5/2023) ORHP sent out a different company the following day 6/6/2023, and the hard start kit was bad. I was told the kit should've been good for a minimum of a season to YEARS! This one lasted less than 30 days. I reached out to Sea Breeze Cooling LLC and was told someone, a supervisor, would call me back by end of day, that was 3 days ago.Business Response

Hi ****. It was nice speaking with you. As I mentioned over the phone, it was miscommunication on our part and my apologies. We stand behind our work and could have replaced the hard start kit for you. ORHP should have sent the work order to us and It would have been our pleasure to fix it for you. Anyways, I resolved this to your liking. Have agreat evening. Thank you.Customer Answer

Sea Breeze Cooling is a contracted with my home warranty, Old Republic. My air conditioner was out. They couldn't get the compressor part for 5 days, it took 4 more days to schedule the work. They did the work on Aug 8rth and after 4 hours the unit stopped working again. They charged me $100 above the warranty price. Now they are refusing to come back and repair the work they did incorrectly.Business Response

Hello. We received this work order from Old Republic on 7/27/22 at 11:04 pm at night. We made contact with home owner and were at the property in less than 12 hours. Report was submitted to the warranty company and claim was approved on 7/30/22 at 11:56 am. They have two units and upstairs unit compressor needed to be replaced. We have explained to ************************** the process that the home warranty company orders the Compressor, once ready for pick up then we will put it on the schedule to install. The time warranty company takes to order equipment is not in our hand, secondly, even once they order, equipment is not readily available, we have to confirm with supplier if the equipment is ready for pick up. Once supplier confirmed then we scheduled install for Monday 8/8/22 and completed the job. Next day Tuesday, ***** called our office and mentioned that ** worked for four hours and stopped working. We let him know that person who installed that compressor is on a job and not available that day. Later the same day on Tuesday we were able to pull him from a job and scheduled tech between 5 pm and 7 pm to go to their house to see what's going on. After scheduling tech to go back, we received a phone call from ***** to cancel the appointment and not to contact them again.
The time home warranty takes to order or time it takes for equipment to be available is not in our hands, secondly, the $100 non covered cost of cleaning the Condenser is from his warranty company according to home owners plan and thirdly, we never refused to go back out. ***** from our office was constantly in touch with home owner and letting them know whats going on. It is not fair to blame the contractor for everything. Their upstairs unit is 11 years old and it could be something other than the Compressor we replaced. If repair was not good then their ** would have not worked even for 10 minutes and the ** worked for four hours. Thank you.

AC service called as contracted by home owners home protective warranty work. Outside temperatures ranging up to 115 degrees. Tech showed up and serviced the unit then offered a hard start kit. Internet supported this installation on older units. Tech explained the cost of $280 for this kit twice and I agreed fearing another shutdown in such hot weather. Issue#1: Tech hacked/jumped a very inexpensive capacitor to a 3 part capacitor (*see attached photo), as opposed to replacing this single part. It stands to reason if one part of a capacitor fails, the others will soon as well. Issue#2: Shortly after this installation I discovered the hard start kit, installed in 5 minutes, at $280, has a retail cost of up to $40. All considered, it appears this tech/company engaged in price gouging, while taking advantage of older customers and during a high heat season.I immediately contacted this company to complete their repair appropriately and to remove this over priced kit and received a response the next day stating they would work with me on my complaints. I had updated my ****** review and it appears this wasnt appreciated. Since that contact Ive attempted to contact this company multiple times since and have been dismissed or completely ignored all together. They need to correct this poor repair and remove the overpriced item and issue a refund.Business Response

This work order was through Old Republic Home protection. Home warranty company covers failure, tech replaced capacitor for condenser fan motor and fixed the problem. **************** agreed to purchase a Hard Start kit and paid for it. Later, they wanted tech to go back to remove the part and give money back. AC was fixed according to home warranty guideline and nothing was installed without their permission. Still, we went back on 8/5/22, replaced the capacitor of home owner's liking, did not remove the Hard start kit and still gave them a check of $280 that we charged them. This complaint is resolved and customer is happy. Thank you.Customer Answer
