I am a current resident at *****************************************************. I have not had a good experience with the residents at the park. My husband, grandchildren and I have been kicked out of the pool 3 times by residents that assumed we did not live at the rv resort. The manager has done absolutely nothing about it, I pay for amenities. My daughter, son in law and grandchildren were attacked by 7 residents, including the manager. The residents disrespected my grandkids, got in my daughters face and decided to call the cops. The manager got there and justified everything that had happened by saying " you don't understand I am not here 24/7, there has to be people who take care of the park" and went on and on not letting my daughter speak and explain what had happened. This is RACIAL profiling. We live at the park, pay our bills on time and mind our business. We want an apology from the residents that were involved as well as the office manager. Very unprofessional to sit there and gossip with the residents after the cops left. Which seemed like there was alcohol involved as well.

    Cotton Lane Resort Response

    08/01/2024

Cotton Lane Resort is a 55+ residential RV/Manufactured Home resort located in ***********. Cotton Lane has been a part of the ****************** for more than 20 years. There is no HOA. One rule that is very strictly enforced states all guests, regardless of age, must be accompanied by a resident when visiting the resort and using resort amenities. The complaint was submitted by *********************, whom was not even present during the entire incident. On the day of the incident, *************** son-in-law, daughter and four children arrived at the pool without the presence of a resident, which is essentially trespassing. Two of our residents were in the pool when they arrived. According to those residents, the children were being unruly, intentionally doing cannonballs and throwing toys in their direction. The residents left the pool and called another resident and informed him of people being in the pool that were not residents (as they were not of age). That resident came down to the pool to assess the situation, was greeted with threatening behavior from the son-in-law. *********************, the assistant manager, was called, and was greeted with the same aggression and threatening behavior. The situation escalated and the police were called. I was then called and arrived at the resort a few minutes later and I, too, was greeted with the same rude, aggressive and threatening behavior. Prior to the arrival of the police, a resident that lives with ************* arrived but not *************. The incident was explained in full detail, and I told him that because of his son-in-laws behavior, he was not welcome back (this had to be translated as he speaks no English). *************, in her complaint, says that her children were attacked by residents, including myself. I can assure you the opposite occurred. The son-in-law and daughter were in our residents faces screaming, yelling and making threats. This type of behavior will not be tolerated. I am unaware of the other 2 times the family has been kicked out of the pool as I was never informed of this. There was no alcohol involved and no racial profiling shown. The son-in-law, daughter and children were trespassing, and the resident showed little to no interest in the rules of the resort.
