I got attacked by bed bugs at the Wigwam Resort. I was an invited to stay at this resort by a friend who was an invited guest of an art gallery to participate in an art auction in November of 2021. I began feeling bites and itching and found a bug in the bed the first morning. We contacted housekeeping and were moved to another room and our belongings were washed. I had to leave my suitcase and take my belongings home in a trash bag. I had 23 bug bites and took pictures of most of my body with the exception of intimate areas. I had to go to a Dr. to get prescribed medication at a time when I had no health insurance since had just retired and was looking for affordable insurance. It was the most horrific experience I have ever had at a hotel. The itching and scratching lasted over two weeks. I was taking scalding showers that made me feel better psychologically, but exacerbated the bites and made them spread even more. I was constantly cleaning and putting my linens through the sanitize cycle because I was so worried that the bugs came home with me. My cats suffered severely also since I was dousing them with flea drops. The drops spread on their coats which they clean. They got nauseated and were foaming at their mouth. I only mention this to explain how distraught and paranoid I had become. The horrific ordeal continued when I was finally contacted by the resorts insurance company, Sedgwick, and the claims Examiner, ***********************. She stalled, she lied and basically diminished my experience in order to minimize my expectations to be compensated fairly. I have suffered mentally and physically and have been treated horribly by this resorts insurance company as if my experience does not justify a fair settlement. They have only offered me a mere $518.

We sent this email on October 10, 2022 and have given ***** ample time to respond. I guess they don't care. Horrible, horrible customer service. Unfortunately I had to leave a 1 star. The bad part is they have a **** problem and I don't even know is it has been taken care of.************************* **** *****, I would like to inform you that my husband's bill for $316.39 (copies attached) has not been resolved. We have been dealing with this since our stay there for my husband's birthday on the evening of July 9th in room #*** Confirmation #*******. We have left messages for you, ***** and your Claim representative ***************************. For *************************** we sent emails and left voice messages he does not respond. He will call me onetime and leave me a message (I work so sometimes I cannot answer my phone immediately) however I do call him back within a short time of his call. He NEVER responds back to me. This has happened twice both times after speaking with you, he will call leave me a message and that's it. This is not a way to do business for your Highly recommended Resort nor for the ************************** Services you use. I do not want to deal directly with them; therefore I am sending you a copy of our Medical Bill for the above amount. We are hoping you will take care of this bill as soon as possible. ***** we certainly do not want to go any further with this situation; however we will if we have to.Just an FYI, our anniversary was October 1st and we did not stay at your resort. We hope that you have taken care of your problem with ****S, which was the main reason I got in touch with you in the first place.. We have recently purchased a home within the walls of ***************, and will not recommend your resort to anyone because of the **** problem of which we have not even been responded to regarding whether the room was fumigated or whether it was a problem with the whole "Resort".Hoping to hear from you soon.****** and *************************

****** and *******, we are surprised and truly disappointed to hear about your experience, as providing memorable getaways is how we are known. Please know that we care deeply about the comfort and satisfaction of our guests, and our team will be reviewing your feedback internally to see where updates are needed to ensure lasting improvements. While we do not work directly with the insurance company, we are sorry to hear that they have proven difficult to work with. We take special pride in caring for our neighbors and we hope for another opportunity to change your impression of us.
