On 3/22/24 ****** (business owner I assume) and a younger kid working with him came out in regards to my dryer making a very loud scratchy metal noise. He opens the door and asks me what could be stuck in there without even turning it on. I said my husbands in construction could be screws. He turned it on and listened to it. Then he jams a tool into the front panel, turns the drum manually and says oh ya youre gonna need new bearings, new belt, new glides. Listing off all these things. Then tells me you know what else? Because the heat gets trapped in here I need to clean the ventilation system, thats another issue you have which will be $175. He told me parts for the dryer would run about $350 and he was gonna charge me $200 for labor on that. He spent all of 3 minutes in my laundry room without even taking anything apart. Walks himself out to my kitchen and tries to tell me I need me fridge condenser serviced which would be another $175. Has the kid bend down to peek underneath and confirm. I decided to get a second opinion thankfully and he still charged me $75 to stand in my house for 5 minutes and lie to me. I ended up calling the company I purchased my dryer from and they referred me to their specialist. This guy simply cleaned out the blower which did have screws in it and that was the only problemhe told me the dryer doesnt have bearings either charged me less than ****** at 1 Stop and actually fixed it

My washing machine wasn't draining properly so I called to have them come out for a $69.99 service fee. The man that came out literally looked at my machine, turned it on, waited 10 seconds and said, yup it's broken. You need a new "stator rotor" which will cost $672.07 with labor. I responded with, can you check the trap? I haven't been able to open the door since I bought it two years ago and I was told it needs to be emptied every 6 months or so. He quickly responded with nope, if it's not draining, this is the issue and it needs to be replaced. I thanked him and sent them on their way. I had another company come over for a quote, he immediately checked the trap, emptied it and my washing machine was back to working perfectly. When I called to request my $69.99 back and tell them what happened, the guy said, too bad. We're not refunding your money. I asked to speak with a manager and he said no, I will not get my money back. I have no problem paying a service fee for a service, however, the man that came out barely even glanced at my washing machine, let alone provide an actual service. He had predetermined the problem before ever even investigating. That I have a problem paying for.

On 7/11/2023 I called 1 Stop Appliance Repair, which I got through Angies List, because the freezer in my refrigerator was not working. ******, the owner, came by and said I needed a new evaporative fan cover and that my condenser and drain were clogged and that it would cost $751.55. I told him that was a lot of money and he said ok Ill give you 10% off which will bring it down to $676.39 and I need half today. He said he didnt have the fan cover but would order it and would be in by 7/21, 10 days from then. I gave him a check for $338.19 that same day, 7/11/2023 and he gave me a receipt. I took my frozen food to two different friends freezers. 7/21/2023 comes and I havent heard a word from ****** so I text him around 11:30 a.m. asking him what time h*** be by to install the fan. He texts me back and says who is this and whats your address. I texted him back with the info and he texted me back and said I cant find you in the system, send me the invoice. So I sent him the invoice. He calls me and I suspect he doesnt have a clue who I am nor has he even ordered the fan. However, he said it hadnt come in yet and that it might be on back order. I told him I had already gone 10 days without a freezer and told him to order it from Amazon and he would have it the next day. He said he never orders from Amazon, only ******** So I told him to cancel me and give me a refund and he said ok but there will be a restocking fee of $138.00. I asked him why a restocking fee if he hasnt even ordered the part yet. He didnt answer me and said Ill send you a refund. On July 31st ****** called me to tell me the fan came in. I told him he knew that job was cancelled and the only reason hes calling me is to pretend he ordered it so he can charge the $138.00 restocking fee. I called a handyman who had it fixed in 24 hours and charged me a total of $295.00. I want a refund for the total amount of $338.19.
