This is the worst Healthcare plan I have had since I retired at 65 and am now 75. Before changing last year from United Healthcare to **********************, I verified all the medication I was taking was in their formulary and covered. Being an older male I was diagnosed with low testosterone in 2016 and have been on Testosterone cypionate ever since. Every insurer prior to ********************** has covered this drug no questions asked. ********************** has denied coverage despite many appeals by myself and my Dr. ********************** was recently provided the 2016 diagnosis by and endocrinologist along with the supporting 2016 test reports that supported the diagnosis. ********************** in all its wisdom of course knows better than the Dr. and even with this information has denied the appeal stating it is not medical necessary. This drug is not expensive (goodrx has it for about $30 a month) so it not a issue of cost savings and the only reason it requires a prior authorization is that ******** has it as a class 3 drug.Don't be lulled into all the "we are here to help you" your going to hear when you get their pitch to sign with them. They are not "here to help you". If you decide to signup with them be aware that they can and will at their discretion deny drug coverage at there discretion and ***'t care that a Dr. has diagnosed and prescribed an rx. In my case I was fortunate to take a drug that is relatively low cost, in your case that *** not be true.I *** not know if Banner Health monitors reviews, but if you do, do not respond or contact me about my experience. I have said it all here and will not continue with you next year.Review from Kayla L

My experience has been horrible. Ive been in and out of this hospital several times and each time I would have to wait for many hours just to be called to the back. When I would finally be called back I would sit there for even longer just to be seen by a doctor. I would come home in extreme pain with my lower back and I wouldnt be able to sleep or move. I sat there for 6 hours in one day. When I got home I was bawling my eyes out cuz I was in so much pain. I have been struggling with back pain. Lately Ive been struggling with severe headaches and neck pain.Review from Thomas N

I had hernia surgery at Banner Estrella. Had a good, positive experience. Nurses, anesthesiologist, technicians, and the surgeon (**************************) were top-notch professionals. I highly recommend this medical center and all the staff. Truly a great place. I am thankful I got the work done here.Review from Katrina G

Worst hospitals ever, they side with their staff and ignore the concerns of the patients. Doesn't do ant good to file complaints or conerns, because they do nothing.Review from Shalynn G

Honestly is a terrible hospital and I think many people of ************** would agree, they are biased and negligent with the care they provide their patients. I was there on 04/23/24 for 5 hrs and 39 minutes, the ONLY staff that I have had a fully positive interaction with has been the ultrasound tech. Due to the nature of my visit my nurses and staff held a very biased opinion of me and the lack of care showed from it. As well as the blonde nurse who I wasn't able to the name of, because every other staff member besides the ***** staff and Ultasound tech kept their tags covered or flipped around where the name wasn't visible, that nurse had absolutely no reason to rip my IV out with that much force nor at such a sharp angle that she caused a hematoma on my arm after I received my discharge paperwork. I sent pictures of my vitals from the monitor I was hooked up to during my stay to an EMT from a different county in ******* and they were appalled when hearing about the care I was receiving at Banner Health for the vitals they had received via pictures. Do NOT go to this hospital at all, whether it be life or death make sure your family NEVER goes here. The lack of care and terrible bedside manner I got during my stay is enough that I will not be going back. I have also seen a few reviews posted about a month ago about Banner Health in ******, WY neglecting an elderly patient who came in and the man had passed away in the lobby only pronounced dead when custodial staff demanded he move so they can clean the blood and vomit that came from the poor gentleman. Something needs to change. They need to sell out to a different hospital or correct their wrong doings.Review from Michael H

I am not even going to waste my time explaining my story. Too much time has already been wasted on the phone with this "healthcare provider" system. The billing department seems to be comprised completely of scripted puppets. Their only guide being their professional motto, "That's not my job". Absolutely pathetic. Just focus on preventative medicine people! You don't want to end ** in the "care" of these "professionals"......at any level or capacity! I should note that this rating is in response to their billing department. That being said, I have had various experiences at many levels of care with Banner in the last 3 years. I am left not only underwhelmed but fearful for my own care. I look to move out of the area and getting out of the Banner healthcare network and it's like counterparts in the valley is a large contributing factor.Review from Julie B

Never Again...Doctors don't communicate which leads to medication mishaps. Nurses don't seem to care about the patients in their care. If you have to go to the hospital in *******, ask to be life flighted somewhere else for cardiac care. So many things wrong with this place.Review from Joseph D

Back in May of 2023 I had a hip replacement. The surgeon who performed the surgery, who is a Banner Health surgeon, said I had to pay $702 otherwise he would not perform the surgery, so I paid the $702. After the surgery the *** (explanation of benefits) from my insurance company said I was to only pay $600.43 which meant I overpaid by $101.57. Banner Baywood, the hospital where the surgery was performed, said my share of the hospital cost is $428.86. I have been trying since June of 2023 to get the $101.57 overpayment to be credited to the Banner Baywood account. On January ******** I get a text from ************ that stated they are the collection agency for Banner Health and that I now owe $428.86 to them for the Banner Baywood account. My ********************** advocate has been working with me to get this resolved with Banner Health and notified me on March 19th 2024 that Banner Baywood will be crediting my account the $101.57 overpayment and my new owed amount is now $327.29. On Saturday I receive a letter from ************ with an invoice from Banner Baywood dated March 25th 2024 showing that the owed amount is still $428.86. As of this writing (April 15th 2024) I have yet to receive an updated bill from Banner Baywood showing the application of the $101.57 overpayment to my hospital bill to reduce the amount I owe to $327.29 from $428.86. Banner Health, nor the surgeon, has entertained the idea of refunding me the overpayment of $101.57. It is ludicrous and unacceptable that it is taking almost one whole year to get this resolved. Banner Health would rather send your account to a collection agency than work with you to resolve a matter that is clearly theirs to correct. They are unprofessional and their customer service is atrocious. I will not deal with Banner Health ever again. Worst medical organization I have had experience with.Review from Ra R.

This office is so unprofessional. I called to book an appointment and they schedule me for a month later; I showed up for my appointment only for them to tell that apparently whoever scheduled my appointment didnt submit it. After that we had to reschedule for a month later, and this time when I was walking in 15 minutes before my appointment they told me, we dont know if your insurance will cover this visit. So they didnt even check beforehand if my insurance will cover my visit although I have provided all my information ahead of time. The office manager told me you can still be seen but we dont know if your insurance will cover it. So they want me to be seen by a PA-C who will probably send me a $500 bill because the office workers are incompetent, and they dont even check if someones insurance will cover their visit like other places do.Review from Marco T

Banner Medical Center in ****** is the WORST place to go for any type of healthcare. I went to the emergency room for abdominal pain. Banner puts all their emergency patients in the hallway of the Trauma Center. It was a disaster. Patients are lined up in the busiest hallway in the hospital. Bleeding trauma patients are wheeled within inches, police, fire, emts, garbage bins, etc are flying down the hallway. I was almost sprayed by blood as trauma patients were wheeled in. My personal health information was available to anyone in the hallway (HIPAA violation). Nurses and doctors were so stressed out they could barely stand to be there (I asked them). I was yelled at the doctor as he was clearly under tremendous stress. Patients in pain were yelling and screaming in the hallway. It was worse than a 3rd world hospital. I will never go to a Banner ************** or hospital again. STAY WAY! Go to one of the better hospitals like Oro Vally Hospital. Banner is absolutely horrible.
