I'm not suprised that this business is not rated by the BBB. I am suprised however there are no reviews. There are plenty of reviews on other websites including Yelp. My 1st visit with *************************, the lead surgeon of this business, was over 2 years ago. I had severe Scolliosis and a curved spine as well as a bad injury to my neck. My 1st surgery was on my neck. 5 weeks later was my 1st back surgery. During my recovery I contacted sepsis for which I will have to take antibiotics for the rest of my life. 5 weeks later I had my 2nd surgery. He cut a vien and I lost alot of blood for which I had to recieve transfusions. My 3rd surgery was several weeks later. During recovery I got Covid. I had to stay in the hospital for 10 days before I was released, I visited ************ for a post op visit 2 weeks later. I could hardly walk and I stood with a noticeble slant to my right. The pain was (and still is) unbearable. I told him I was dissapointed with the whole expieriance and showed him how crooked I stood. He got very defensive but apologised later for "Minimizing" my complaint. I never saw him again Given the choice again I would have never done the surgeries. The cost has never justified the results. I will never recommend ************ to anyone.

Dear *****,I apologize for the poor experience that you have voiced on this public platform. I only hope it was with good intention but the facts have been misunderstood and since these concerns were not brought to us personally, it should be explained for context. After a successful cervical spine surgery, we proceeded with lumbar spine surgery. Because of the complex nature of your anatomy, in particular, your veins - ************ requested the help of a vascular surgeon who attempted to expose the spine from an anterior approach. There was no cutting of the vessels/veins whatsoever but rather when teasing away the vessels from the spine, the vessel did get injured by the vascular surgeon, NOT ************. After the vessel was repaired expediently, it was decided to abort this approach and NOT be cavalier with your care. This procedure did NOT require a transfusion as the vascular specialist who was present during the entire procedure acted quickly and performed the appropriate repair. The blood transfusion you received was during the posterior approach of both your lumbar surgeries. Blood transfusions are not completely uncommon especially in the setting of a multilevel spinal fusion, as yours was not related to a "vein being cut". With regards to getting COVID, this truly is unfortunate. We have no control over a respiratory illness that affected 100s of million people around the world. As you may recall, our attempts to perform your surgeries started at an ASC but unfortunately you did require hospitalization that was unanticipated. With regards to your leaning to the one side, if you remember due to the preexisting curve of your spine, ************ educated you on a limited procedure vs a large deformity. in your consultation with your spouse, you elected a more limited surgery to address the neurological issues rather than a full deformity correction. As the side by side comparison of your pre and postop xrays demonstrate no progression of your curvature above the level of your fusion. I can understand when the spinal levels are fused the unfused levels will compensate and result in leaning to one side. But suggesting that ************ caused this couldn't be further from the fact. ************ and his entire team strive relentlessly to make people whole for no other reason but because being at service of our fellow man is a privilege that we do not take lightly. Unfortunately complications from surgery do occur and we are proud that our complication rate is well below the regional and national average. Again, despite the above factual occurrences, I understand your reality/perception will likely be unchanged. I can only assure, had you brought your grievance to ************ in person, he would would have explained these occurrences to you in detail to help you understand a more complete picture. Again, I hope this post on a public forum was in good intention rather than to disenfranchise a practice due to misunderstanding. If we can be of any further service please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We wish you well.
