I have always been a homeowner, and this is my first experience renting a house. I chose a Mark ********************** property because of the great reviews, but unfortunately my experience so far has been disappointing. It's a week past my scheduled move-in date, and the painting and repairs that were supposed to be completed before that date have still not been done. There was a scorpion in the house when I did my tour and was told by the customer service representative that a one-time spray would be done prior to move-in, but now they refuse to do it despite me finding scorpions every time I visit the property. On top of all of this, there is an active termite infestation and I have received no updates about when it will be treated so I can move in. I paid rent for this month and am currently having to stay elsewhere because the home is not ready, and I can't get a hold of anyone on the Mark ********************** team who has actually been able to give me answers or work with me to find a solution. As of right now, I would not recommend renting a home with Mark **********************.Mark Brower Properties LLC Response

Mark Brower Properties comes very highly recommended. **** Brower personally toured our rental property in **** ** and sent us a video. We were thrilled! Since then, however, it's been 5 months of frustration. They have a team of people who are probably doing their jobs well, but they don't necessarily know what other people are doing and they don't always respond quickly. I have been a professional property manager, so I had normal expectations from my past experience. Well, my expectations were not met. They were crushed over and over during the last 5 months. For example, I cannot understand the accounting statement they send. It is not normal accounting with credits and debits. I asked for normal accounting and it has not been provided, after many requests.A new Mark Brower Properties lease was sent to my existing tenants without ever being sent to me for approval first. That is not professional, and I actually know because I have presented many leases, both commercial and residential. My tenants for the last seven years were stunned to see *************************************************** a new lease. The property manager tried to explain it to me this way - "Yes, we load the first lease with many provisions. After the first year the lease is shorter."That is not professional either. It may be some kind of industry standard now, but it is certainly not fair. Mark Brower Properties has a copy of the lease these tenants signed eight years ago. They are not treating my tenants with respect and they are not treating me, the property owner, with respect. They want to charge me a $1000 termination fee and hold our money in escrow for up to 30 days. That is like holding us hostage.I am actually stunned at the experience we have had with Mark Brower Properties. I am asking for immediate termination of our management agreement, with no termination fee and with immediate release of all funds in escrow.Mark Brower Properties LLC Response

Hi ******, it was a pleasure speaking with you just now. We will 100% not charge you any cancellation fee for moving your account to another property management company. So sorry for not providing you the lease up-front so you wouldn't be in this position with your long-term residents. PROS BEWARE: I'm a local small landscape maintenance company owner that had the misfortune to work with this unprofessional bunch of people. In the beginning 3 different people could not tell me how I got paid or knew where to even get the information. Which despite that giant red flag I was personally asked by the homeowner to do their yard since the landscaper that **** ********************** sent destroyed the clients lawns and killed 4 different plants that i later had to remove. They do payment through some sketchy 3rd party that has a 1 star rating with the BBB and takes a percentage of your money paid unless you want to wait 2 weeks (10 business days to get paid) for a check to be snail mailed After getting set up with all that which took about 2 months total, JUST FOR ME TO GET PAID IN UNDER 10 DAY. Now **** ********************** personally told me that its so easy you just email an invoice and then its 1-3 days for avid to send payment. Well that was a flat out LIE (not the first time i was lied to or misrepresented as **** ********************** might prefer to say). I emailed 3 invoices after that and each one sat at **** **********************s office for an entire week before i had to call in and see what was going on because no money had been deposited and it was well past the 1-3 days that i was told. I have all the records which i had to start keeping because SO MUCH c*** like this was happening. I'd be happy to share those with any prospective vendors. As for the homeowner side all i know is that i was working at a long time client and i had a lady come up to me pleading that i take care of her yard and that she wasnt sure the property management company could do a good job. Then they destroyed her lawn, killed 4 plants, and cost her $1,200, reduced to $800 by me since i like her, to get it all cleaned up. They did not help her with the clean up of her landscape that their landscaper ruined.Mark Brower Properties LLC Response

Thanks for sharing your experience Brion. I regret you had a frustrating experience with our company as a vendor. I know not only did we not meet your timelines requirements to be paid for recurring landscape service but you also put quite a bit of effort into getting set up on our payment system, etc. I'm sorry about the time lost to you. You and I worked directly on multiple occasions to try to get to a WIN-WIN and ultimately had to concede we just weren't going to get there. I am sorry. You have every right to share about your experience as a small landscape outfit so other vendors can be aware of your frustrations. Hopefully now that we have more experience with our *******) payment system we can be more clear about the expectations up-front about payment terms. Also, if we get additional feedback like yours we will ultimately have to make the decision to move away from Avid Exchange to process payments. We wish you all the best. It's not that you didn't meet deadlines, but you told me that invoices got approved next day by mark ******************** to be sent to ************ but you never did that once, so my deadlines were the ones YOU set and then left me in your email for 5+ days. Also, just for TRUTHS SAKE you didn't do much to make it a win-win except ask me what happened and give me an incorrect timeline of when you're company would approve the invoice email that gets to your email instantly. And then you drop me as a vendor because I demanded that you stick to the word you gave me and approved the invoice next day or less that 5+ days. Just childish. Its about saying things and doing them. I was at every single appointment exactly when I said I would be, and did the exact job EXCEPTIONALLY well just like I said. If I did my work like you did yours their yard would be destroyed.. I kept my word, you did not. So don't sit here like you did anything to help.Added a link to a picture below for potential clients and vendors alike to see of how people that deal with this company have to say to me. ********************** In the end, you're company dodged all questions or simply didnt know anything about paying vendors, and lied and misled multiple times. I know of Mark ********************** *********** Brokerage as I was searching for a job in ***********. In my research I found there were very few Brokerages that operate with high principles like Mark ********************** Brokerage. I have had the utmost respect & great experience in all my communications with ******************************* Brokerage, from ****** to the folks who answer the phones to the LinkedIn official acct contacts.
