The incidents within this complaint have taken place in May of 2023.My mother-in-law is confined to a scooter/wheelchair and needs 24-hour care and assistance. Her husband was recently hospitalized and she was left alone in her home to care for herself overnight on at least two known occasions. Several caregivers have no call/no showed during this time period. My husband and his brother have been attempting to assist with improving services by reaching out to management and scheduling personnel. They have been unsuccessful thus far. It has come to our attention that certain staff at this business have referred to my husband as "the mean twin" behind his back. This is terribly unprofessional behavior. As of today, May 19, my mother-in-law was without a caregiver overnight last night and all this morning. We are seeking referral from the VA for a different caregiving company, or for HomeWell Mesa to provide the services they guarantee on their website.Business response

We try with every client to provide consistent and ************. In this case, the client is verbally abusive to caregivers, who then call off or decline shifts. We have most definitely struggled to keep a consistent supply. I personally witnessed her abusive behavior, directed at me in front of family. After her verbal outburst she attempted to run me over with her scooter, and the family member in attendance made no attempt to curb her behavior. When I discussed the challenges with the family member outside the house, the statement was I dont care, I just want my mom to have ***************.
As we cannot provide *************** in a hostile work environment, we have made the hard decision to exit this client. We hope the family and client find a solution.
