I got my solar panels put on about 2 years ago with the promise of not having an electric bill. I have consistently had electricity bills and am almost paying 200 per month for the solar panels. I have reached out to the company many times with little to no response. I have been scammed and am not the only person with this problem. I want the solar panels removed.

Power of Our Sun sold us an in-adequate Solar Panel System. They said their analysis of how many panels to install in order to pay for the panels and reduce our electrical bill to Zero was accurate. They installed the panels, charged us $30,000 of which we financed for 30 years at $120 a month. Our electric has gone down minimally and we have incurred an additional $30,000 of debt. This company should have been regulated by a higher authority. They were not adequately prepared & fraudulent in their promise/analysis of our solar panel needs.I will be taking additional steps to file some type of law suit of the owners.

Power of Our Sun charged me $22000 for installation of my solar panels. There was a current incentive/promotion for $500 that was going to get paid after the completion of work. The work has been completed and I have made multiple attempts to collect but have not received any money. Power of Our Sun has 25 year warranty (panels, inverters and workmanship): I got a leak as a result of the installation.Project Number TSP53547 My address where the panels were instailled.44800 **************************************

      Hello,

We are aware of the incentives due by us. We had a large embezzlement issue with an employee and has effectively frozen the company. We are not closed nor filing a BK, we are needing projects to get installed to cover the damages caused by this issue. Once the issue has been cleared and the company will be able to resume it's normal operations and send out the rebate that is due.

In mid 2021, my wife and I entered into a relationship with Power of Our Sun. They agreed to handle the paperwork and serve as the point of contact for installation of solar panels on our house. During the course of setting up the installation, we received a notice from Ameren, our electric company, that they would pay us 2.8 cents per kilowatt hour for any excess energy we produced. This was considerably below the rate at which we would be buying energy from Ameren. Our Power of Our Sun contact person, ***************************, had represented something different. He had told us that there was a one to one ratio for selling and buying electricity from Ameren. When I contacted him he told me that the Ameren notice was incorrect and that the ratio was indeed one to one. After our panels were installed, Ameren repeated that they would be buying electricity at a rate considerably below the price we would be paying for electricity. Mr. ***** explained to me in great detail, in two phone calls, that the ratio was one to one. He offered to pull a supposed contract between us and Ameren to double check. I later found out from Ameren that no such contract exists. At that point he began telling me to wait while he gathered information, and then stopped responding to texts or returning calls altogether. Attempts to contact the company through their website has resulted in text messages asking how they can help, but when I respond I just keep getting the same text. The difference in pricing represented to us by Power of Our Sun and the actual pricing from Ameren, will cost us, most likely, many thousands of dollars over the life of our solar panels.

In April of 2020, I signed a contract with Power of Our Sun for installation of solar panels. Our roof needed to be replaced and the cost of the new roof was added to our loan. Per instructions from Power of Our Sun and Titan Solar (the installer). We sent an estimate from our roofing company and contact information to Power of Our Sun and Titan. They claimed that they would contact the roofing company and explain when funds would be released, etc. Our roof was replaced in June of 2020. In September of 2020, we were contacted by our roofing company. No one had contacted them. We were considered 90 days past due, and had to make a payment plan and begin paying the roofing company back. We contacted Power of Our Sun and Titan and asked to have the cost of the roof taken off our loan. We were told that couldn't happen and that we would be reimbursed when installation was complete. Installation was finally completed on November 30, 2021. We have been paying off the roof since September. No funds have been released to us. We have also had to begin paying off the loan. So, essentially, we are paying for the roof twice. And, we don't have permission to turn our system on. So, we are paying for a system that has never been turned on. No one from Power of Our Sun, or Titan will return our calls, emails, or texts.

We were wanting to invest in solar panels for our house and started working with this company to do so. After over six months no proof of a project starting had been provided. During this time I got diagnosed with cancer, which was something financial we didnt see coming, so we contacted this company to get updated on progress and delay the project six months to a year to deal with my health crisis. At that time I was informed they were all of sudden ready to start, and all this work had been done and if we delayed project we would be billed $4000. The guy was honestly pretty rude in the end. While I was in the hospital a **** came for the $4000. It was itemized structural, engineering, site survey, design survey, permit fee, admin fee. We never saw anyone come to our house. Ive tried to reach out to the company to ask for proof of any of these things and no one answers the phone. I feel if I were to pay them I at least am owed evidence of what I am paying for. There is also no evidence a permit was pulled locally for our address. They are threatening legal action in the letter. Since I can not reach them, I am filing this complaint with you.

Hello, I'm happy to discuss this with you further over the phone. We have done all the background work required in order to install your system and you signed a contract that authorized *********** Power to do so. Permits, Engineering, Interconnection applications with the electric company, site survey. All of which cost the business money. Feel free to reach out to me via email and we can schedule a time to hop on a call. ********************************

      Resolved
A few months ago, I inquired from Power of the Sun about installing solar panels in my house. I had inquired with several companies at that time, including Tesla. A representative called me and said he'll send somebody to survey my property. I guess someone came to survey the outside of the house; I was not around to see the person. After that, the same representative called to set up an appointment to discuss pricing and plan. I took time off from work for this person coming to my house. No one showed up and no one called to explain why no one came over. We set up another appointment and the same thing happened. When I got a call to set up another appointment, I told the representative that I am no longer interested in using their company. I told him I do not want to be in business with them. The calls stopped but I would get text messages and emails from time to time. I did not reply anymore. Last week, I received a letter saying that I owe the company $4,000.00 as cancellation fee. It itemized how the $4,000.00 came about and asked that I send them a check as payment. I will upload a copy of the letter for your review. I never signed up with the company to install the solar panels. I was merely inquiring and I have never met anyone in person. I had told the representative after he didn't show up a couple of times that I no longer have trust in them and I will not do any business with them. I think this is a form of extortion and harassment. Please review this case and help me resolve it. Thank you for your help.

******* you are correct and the collection notice is invalid. Your contract was never properly signed and I apologize you have been dealing with this. The representative who you initially dealt with has been terminated from our company due to similar experiences with other customers. Started the solar process April 2021. Install finally commenced October 2021. We purchased a Generac generator as part of the deal and a green package was to be included as well. At install no one knew anything about a generator. Calls, texts etc ignored until we threatened legal action. Finally told generator is back ordered. That was in November 2021. Its now Jan 2022 and we cant get anyone to tell us anything about where the rest of our system is. Green package supposedly shipped multiple times but we have yet to receive. We are now making payments on an incomplete system and cant get any answers or any live person to ask the questions to. We want the rest of our system that we are paying for.

My husband was interested in having solar power installed at our house. He does not have any knowledge or information about solar power. I am now working from home and extremely busy with my work. I am over worked. When he set up the meeting with the company I listen in and also warned them that we are elderly couple and since the pandemic start my husband could not work and we are now only one income household and just want to reduce our expenses and also do not want to be taken for a ride by any body. Also, not to ask for more money later on.

During the meeting sale person Aidan explained how solar power worked which at later time we discovered that he did not disclosed the very important piece of information. That information was that having solar power does not mean anything if there is power outage and we do not have  battery backup. He said we do not need the battery and if we want the battery there will be additional cost. Since we are trying to reduce the expenses we did not want that. The only thing is that we did not realize at the time that without the battery solar power is useless for us.
He tried to make us temporary contract and said that this is the temporary contract and we can change our mind if we want. We sign the contract, thinking that this is temporary without obligation. He was also pressuring us to sign the contract on that same day.

After that day, my husband started doing research with other companies and find out that we need the battery if we want to have power during the power outage which "Power of Our Sun" did not disclose.  Also during this time, all the subcontractors and their subcontractors started calling us and bothering us and "Power of Our Sun" did not do any job. All the subcontractors pressured us to continue with process also. Finally we told the subcontractors that we do not want to install the solar power and we change our mind.  When we changed our mind the company sent us the $6000.00 **** and said they did work such as survey and admin fees, all bogus fees and if we do not pay them they will send the **** to collection.  They lied to us and sending us $6000 **** because we changed our mind. We are elderly couple we had been duped and swindled  by this company. My husband is 78 years old. He was still working prior to pandemic and now he can't work. Now our household is one income and we are barely surviving and these companies are taking advantage of elderly people. If you can help us we really appreciate it.  We also would like to complaint to AZ Attorney General so that they cannot do that to other elderly folks. If you can help us in filling with AG office I appreciate it. Thank you very much.

      Sincerely,
      Ni Ni and Win
