The vets seem to be quite expensive out here in the *********** area and presenting menus of procedures they insist you have done seems to be the trend! If you take a pet in for sneezing, they want to test for feline aids or do a bunch of blood work, which I understand has to be done eventually, but not at that first visit. I took 2 very sick cats in. One with horrible snot and sneezing and who goes into the breathing attacks or sniffling attacks. You can hear that she can barely breathe. Her nose is totally stopped up. She examined her on and on and then said we dont really give antibiotics or do anything for this. She just has sinusitis. Well it can be treated with antibiotics or corticosteroids at least! The other one has extremely red eyes! Herpes virus or conjunctivitis which had already been established by my regular vet who sent over records and who we moved away from. She then suggested an iodine test for ulcers, which I agreeeed. Stupid. Then said theres nothing we can do. Just keep down the stress. Are you serious?!?!? They can treat it with terramycin for discomfort and inflammation! Famciclovir for an anti viral, tobramycin for bacterial or from infection coming back! Or trifluridine and steroids! My cats are both pretty severe! I paid $130.00 plus $24.00 for the iodine test. Just ridiculous. Used my gas. All of that! Im just livid! They sent me home with 2 very sick cats and who are suffering!!
