I visited this restaurant with intent to eat well they'll be treated well I drove a good long distance from where we are living in the shelter and I stopped here to eat before I had to go give plasma so that I can make some money for gas as me and my family are struggling financially and I am a single mother of five kids. I am a hot foods beneficiary meaning that I get to use my EBT card at restaurants that accept EBT hot foods. After visiting this restaurant I feel that I have been discriminated against due to the fact that when I came in I was greeted well and I was treated well throughout the mill up until they recognize that I would be paying with my card my EBT card at that point chit chat began in the background and the server told me she'll be right back because she only takes EBT hot foods for plates that are to go. Obviously living in the shelter means I do not have a dining room table where I can eat my food nor my children at this time having EBT hot foods is for struggling people and it's purposefully accepted at restaurants because we have nowhere else to go to eat. The manager of the Peoria location began to get upset and tell me that she did not accept EBT hot foods for sit down meals I explained to her that I do not have a home so that does not make sense she stated that she would accept it now but she was making an exception only this time. During the time that I was enjoying myself there and eating and feeling qualified I was hoping to take my kids there and feed them there too. This restaurant should not be accepting EBT hot foods if they will not accept EBT hot foods clients to eat inside of their restaurants. This is discrimination at its finest. For what reason do others that are eating in the same restaurant gets to eat at a table but we do not. The people that are struggling the people that need the help the most are being shunned. I ask that you take away their ability to accept EBT hot foods program to avoid this fact from happening again.
