Purchased 2 Trane air conditioning units from Delta for a total of $13,671 on 4-6-21. Installed on 4-15-21. Contract stated that all new components would be used. Delta provided regular 6 month maintenance on both units. My free 2 year maintenance with new units ended 4-15-23. On 9-25-23 I paid for a 5 year maintenance plan that covered that day's scheduled maintenance. After the maintenance was completed the technician told me that I had a leaking evaporator coil. The coil was under warranty. The labor was not and would cost approximately $2500. He told me I could wait until the following spring since it was now the Fall season and I would not be using my AC anyway. Arrangements were made for me to buy a discounted 10 year labor warranty for $2089, but that it would not cover the labor for the existing work that was needed to replace the evaporator coil.On 3-12-24 the evaporator coil was replaced. After it was completed the technician told me that the wrong plenum had been installed on the 2 ton unit and was restricting 20% of the air flow due to it being under sized. He said he would talk to his boss about having it replace. The plenum that had been installed was the original plenum that was on the original 1.5 ton unit. I had the original company's name etched on it from when it was installed as a newly built home. The name is "***********************". It is widely known in the industry that an undersized plenum will cause harm to the other components of the system including the evaporative coil. I did not hear back from anyone after 30 days so I called. Reluctantly they agreed to replace the unit but would not commit to when they would do so. They would give me a 48 hour notice. All promised callbacks from Delta are NEVER fulfilled. An attorney sent a demand letter on my behalf and they have chosen to ignore it. I am looking for a new plenum to be installed before my new evaporator is harmed and a refund of the labor to replace the evaporative coil of $2089.

On June 3, 2022 Delta delivered and installed a 3 Ton Air Conditioner Packaged Unit to a condo at ******************************. in ********, *******. The cost of the unit was $7,898.00. The unit was delivered by a large crane and landed on the roof with a huge sound that frightened the tenant inside the condo. There are depression scars and indentations that show where the old air conditioner was and additional overlapping indentations and scars from the new air conditioner also. A deeper scar could be where a corner of the unit m first hit the roof. The installers did not leave any paperwork of any kind and did not instruct the tenant how to use the thermostat. They simply left. The thermostat had to be replaced, it was not programed to turn on the heat pump. Months later when the rains came, the roof under the new unit leaked profusely, flooding the room underneath it. It was at this time that the tenant described the installation to me.It is likely that the installers did not inform Delta of the rough landing during their delivery. I have had roofers examine the damage and have estimates of what it will take to repair them. I have informed Delta and they have been reluctant to accept any responsibility and it was very difficult to get them to even come out and examine the condition of the roof. They did concede that they no longer use the installer that was in charge of the installation of this unit. The paperwork they sent me, one single page mailed on June 3, to a wrong address was not sent to my correct address until months later. It instructs me to refer to directions in a packet that is supposed to be delivered with the unit but there was no packet with delivery and to date I still have not received such a packet. Please see the attached estimate for repairing the damaged portion of the roof.
