An incomplete, unsatisfactory engine rebuild at Arizona Engine Rebuilding in *******, ** on July 27th, 2023 and August 17th 2023, for a total of $10,349.68.Upon picking the truck up we had to immediately return twice over the course of a couple of days because of an Check Engine light. The first time back to the shop **** at AER said it was probably an electrical issue, so he charged to replace the coil serving cylinder #6. The second time the engine light came on **** said it was probably a bad fuel injector, so they charged and supposedly replaced the injector but sadly, later it was found they did not replace it. They assured me everything would settle in and that if there were any issues they would take care of it, despite us being in *****.To date, we have received no resolution from AER despite multiple emails, phone calls, and a complaint with the Arizona Attorney General's office. We live in *****. The truck ran poorly on the journey home. We paid $1,698.82 for a second mechanic, *********************** in ******, **, for a diagnosis. *********************** confirmed that the engine rebuild was incompetently performed, and verified cylinder #6 has very low compression causing the engine to stall, shake, and underperform causing it to be unsafe. They also found that some of the parts that were reported to have been replaced by Arizona Engine Rebuilding were not replaced. We requested at the time of service to receive our old parts and for the shop to take photos, and videos, and show proof of engine diagnostics i.e. compression tests, etc for which we received nothing.I have attached a copy of the invoices from Arizona Engine Rebuilding, as well as a copy of the diagnosis from ***********************.We have lost faith in AER and request a full refund for the cost of the engine rebuild plus the 2nd opinion totalling $12,048.50, as it failed to perform to industry standards. I have attached copies of all relevant documentation to support my request.

This is the same complaint we responded to on October 23rd by letter to BBB.  The  vehicle travelled to ****** *****  some 490 miles from ******* started to have intermittent misfire.  This was reported to Service manager *********; who informed the customer that the vehicle would have to be returned to this shop for warranty.  This is in accordance with the contract with the customers. Instead the customers  took it to a local shop and incurred $1,600 expense.   A review of their diagnostic work left this shop with many questions  why they would recommend  to sell the customers a reman engine for $8,610 when the going rate is $4,500 and our estimate to address the  problem is likely 5/6hours; all in costs less than $1,000?

After the diagnostic work done  our service manager had telephone conversations with the customer raising concerns of what they were proposing.  In the spirit of looking for a solution **** the service manager did offer to  pay part costs and up to $700 in labor provided they take the vehicle to an ASE certified shop in ****** and **** would oversee the work.  The customers declined this offer.  We are now advised they sold the truck eliminating any possibly of addressing the engine problem.

In summary there is a contract in place which requires any warranty work would need to be completed at this shop and it is the customers responsibility to return the vehicle to this shop.  The customers did not bring the vehicle back.  It is    Lastly making a decision to sell the truck eliminated  this shop  ability to address the engine issue.

There have been exchange of emails with one of the owners on October 27th and October 30th where  and as one last attempt propose this shop would refund the money paid to Arizona Engine provided they return the truck and provide clear title.  If that were to happen this shop would address any issues found and then sell the truck to recoup its costs.

Took my Jeep in at the beginning of the year, got it back with nothing but problems. Took it back and they rebuilt the motor again. Still having problems. Took it to a local mechanic to have it fixed instead of returning to them. It is costing more money due the them being engine builders not mechanics

**************** bought a remanufactured engine for his jeep which consisted of this shop using the casting of his block, crankshaft and cylinder head and remachined them back to factory specs. A complete engine remanufacture was undertaken using all quality parts. The engine was reinstalled and after **** miles **************** advised he had low oil pressure and lacked power.  The vehicle was returned to this shop and after checking it out it was determined the camshaft was defective which was replaced under warranty. Following that installation the vehicle was test drove for over 100 miles with no complications.  The engine had good oil pressure and compression.  It has been over 2 months since then and we have not heard from ****************.   ******************** engine is under warranty so if he has a new problem as a result of any work we did he is encouraged to contact us .
