Called this CBD company in early July 2023 and the designer entered my home with a less than friendly, uppity attitude; she wasn't thorough and only offered the bare minimum. Shared my concerns with the manager who was even MORE condescending and rude. They lost a $7,000. sale and I happily went with another company, where I chose all my upgrades and was treated with respect and decency. Extremely disappointing experience and I do not recommend. Turns out, previous employees of CBD detest the company too, and I can see why.Closets by Design Phoenix Response

First let me unequivocally state that Closets by Design does not tolerate rude or disrespectful behavior from any employee. Your call concerning the appointment was promptly returned by our sale manager. We listened to your concerns and also followed up with the sale associate to better understand what could have possibly transpired to leave you with such a negative impression that you would also seek out or cite alleged un-named ex-employees to corroborate your experience.
We regret your negative perception of the experience. Closets by Design does not tolerate rude or disrespectful behavior from any employee.

This company took 4 visits to my house to complete a simple pantry. Each time they came I had to empty the pantry which was an extreme effort due to my age (76 years old). I contracted with this store on May 25 to redo a pantry. Installation was due to be completed on June 29. When the crew got here they realized that the measurements were wrong and were not able to complete the job. The new install date was July 11. On July 11, the measurements still were wrong. They sent a manager out to remeasure on July 12. Installers came back out 7/13, measurements still wrong. On 7/14, they finally completed the job. The frustration level was enormous. They had one excuse after another. When speaking with the office manager, she became very rude and aggressive. Continually telling me 'that if I read the contract' I would know that CBD is not liable for delays. Because of her behavior I considered cancelling the project, but she, again, informed me 'that if I read the contract' I would know that my $1000 deposit was nonrefundable. My issue was primarily with the extreme inconvenience of emptying and restocking the pantry 4 times and taking 4 days of my life waiting around for these people to get the measurements right. In the end, they only compensated me $100 for for all the aggravation. I would not recommend this business to anyone.Closets by Design Phoenix Response

The notion that we were rude or disrespectful is simply unfounded. In fact, we offered to restock the pantry for her. Custom cabinetry sometimes involves modification to achieve the desired result. We regret the delays but we stand behind our products and completed everything to contract.Review from Bob W.

This by far the worst company that I have dealt with in my entire life. To be brief, we engaged CBD to design and install cabinets and a computer desk in our home office. This has been a complete disaster from major design flaws to an incompetent installer. We have had a second installer at our house 3 times to correct the issues but that still did not correct the problem. They lost his new measurements and didnt give him the right materials to finish the project. Finally an install manager came to evaluate the project and even he saw how botched it was. He promised to make it right..Well, that was 2 months ago and there has been no contact from CBD since his visit in April. All I can say is garbage in garbage out..Closets by Design Phoenix Response

Closets by Design has been to your home to address your issues 5 times and you have a 6th service scheduled for 7/9. Should it have taken that many visits, no. Once again, CBD has failed to correct the issues with our home office. I received a call this morning from the installer who said he knew nothing about the resolution that was discussed with his supervisor. The company continues to lie about wanting to resolve the issues with their faulty product. When I called to speak with a person in charge he was conveniently away from his desk. We are no closer to completion than we were two months ago. Their promises are nothing more than empty words and a total lack of follow through. Whoever responded to my original comment totally lied.Review from Jackie H

I recently had my closet installed and had an exceptional experience!! The closet designer arrived on time and worked with me to create a functional closet that worked for my needs. The install went seamlessly and the installer was professional and left my closet spotless of any debris. I've worked with other closet companies in the past and this was not the experience I had with them by any means. I would highly recommend this company.Thank you Closets by Design. Do not purchase from this company! My design expert was great but the office team and install crew were the worst!! The trim is a different color than the shelving, the installers left black marks on my freshly painted white walls, the doors were wrong, a shelf was broken and the units were filthy. They told me they had to come back in a week to finish install but demanded final payment after the partial install. The office girl was rude stating my contract states full payment on delivery. When I explained I do not have the full delivery as promised she was less than helpful with a solution continued to demand final payment with promise to come back. I refused to pay and it took the installer calling the office to get someone to call me back. Agreed to pay all but $500 and balance next week. Seems the contract only holds in the owners favor and as the consumer I was wrong. As for the discolor trim, dirty walls, and filthy units I guess I get that as a bonus. It is a tiny closet costing **** dollars. The brochure does not offer this kind of finish. White glove service must be an up charge! Dont waste your timeClosets by Design Phoenix Response

We order our pantry solution in June 2020, with an install date of 10/12. When the installers arrived, they stated to remove my baseboards, (which was never discussed with us) I called the company and the install manager 5 times on the 10/12. I finally got a call back a few days later, with an excuse of I am "very busy". The installer completed their work with what they had, order was not complete. At the end of the day there were missing pieces, nothing was plum, shelves didn't sit correctly. When I spoke with the install manager I explained my concerns, and asked him to personal come to my home to look at the issues we were having. Upon review he agreed the install did not meet his expectations. He stated he would have the pantry remade and be in contact for a new install date. Two weeks later no phone call, I called him. I got several excuses again, and me pleading to have complete before Thanksgiving he stated he would have someone out on a Friday. The Monday before the scheduled appointment, he asked to come out to do some pre-work, the install manager and the installer came out, and actually caused more damage. I called and text (with pictures) him to advise, he stated he was having everything re-made for Friday. Friday morning I get a call informing me that the had to reschedule out appointment to the following Monday. Now Monday the day of install, the new material is all cut incorrectly and no additional work could be completed. I have requested a refund, as they have had 3 attempts to complete the install. The install manager stated we "don't do that" we want to complete the install correctly. Based on historical events they is clearly an issue with product, and ability to deliver a quality outcome. This has been extremely frustrating, there is no communication, you have to call them and hope for a response.Closets by Design Phoenix Response

Your initial installation was on 10/12/21, with two follow up service visits on 11/22 and 11/23/21 to correct your issues. If issues remain, you have a lifetime warranty that covers any workmanship or quality issues.
