I was contacted by student loan services. The representative that spoke to me was name ***************************, and he told me I was a candidate for the **** payment plan through the Pathway Program through the Student Loan Servicing LLC. He stated his organization was a third party that worked with the ************* ********** of ********** He knew a lot about repayment plan names that are actual plans through the federal student aid, but there are no such plans associated with the ************* ********** of ********* that include a third party taking over loan payments from the original loan office. He gave me a case number, a repayment plan, as well as a welcome email and instructions that the ********** of ********* would be in contact with me in the next 90 days. ******* was very pushy and stated that if I did not give him my bank account information my application would be null and void, and that there are limited funds for student loan forgiveness and that I would lose my spot/opportunity for application. I broke down and cried on the phone and said "I really need this loan forgiveness, please don't s**** me over", and ******* told me ****** just give us 2% of your trust". He told me that the program I was approved for would reduce my total debt by half, and reduce my monthly payments greatly. He emotionally coerced me into giving him my routing number and bank account number. He just happened to catch me a week after my dad had a major hip replacement, I was in a car accident the same week, and I have been very stressed at work as I work as a medical professional during the ***** pandemic where I am putting my life on the line every single day at work. I asked him several times why I couldn't have more time and he just kept saying I would have to re-apply next year for forgiveness, providing funding was still available. This company took advantage of a medical professional who is under extreme emotional duress.
