I signed a contract with Auros Home Remodel on May 31st, 2023 for a kitchen purchase and installation without the demolition of an old kitchen necessary. The total project cost is $ ****** of which I've paid half. Their website states that the total project timing for a kitchen project is six weeks and a hassle free process. My project took nine months to complete and was a major hassle. One serious error was that some electrical and plumbing connections were made out of code and could have resulted in a fire and/or flooding to my home. The new crew are who discovered that the. Other issues with project included installation of a broken cabinet, incorrect measurements, cabinet doors rubbing against each other, and missing items. I requested that Auros reinstall the cabinets using a different crew . It was the new crew who discovered the errors during the reinstall. Had I not requested that Auros reinstall the cabinets, these errors would have not been discovered and surely lead to my death or major damage to my home. In addition to this, I was without a fully functional kitchen during the nine month period. My dogs and I went through all of this with a disruption to our lives as well. I sent a letter to the **** but I didn't receive a response. Some time later, I received a call from an Auros employee who apologized for all of the trouble I experienced. We discussed the final payment and I expressed that I felt the remaining balance should be compensation for the danger and disruption to my life. They initially offered a $5,000 discount and I renegotiated an $11,000 discount. I was told that anything over $1100 would need to be sent to legal so I decided to accept because I am on disability retirement for mental health issues. However I am no longer content with that figure and want the balance to be discounted. I've asked for a formal apology and I was not given one so I no longer want it.
