Terrible customer **********************. Since learning yesterday that there is an e-alert with my name on it, I've called 5 times and sent 1 text to determine how U-Haul got my name when I haven't rented anything from them. Based on the reviews here, I'm not very optimistic that someone will call with answers to resolve this situation. I'm sure, however, that insurance regulation still exists.Review from Anthony Y

It's been a month and I've been getting the run around for a hit and run of one of their insured drivers. Everytime I talk to them on the phone. They review the pictures and say "I'm going to get back to you", no sir I've lost my job waiting for you. You cost me my livelihood. I'm going after them. They've destroyed my life. My car was parked and I have video proof of everything and they are still giving me trouble. I rely on my car for work.Repwest Insurance Company Response

Hello **************, I received notice of your posted concerns here and I will do my best to assist you. I was able to locate your claim file with the name and email address that you have provided. I see there was an initial delay as this loss involved a ********* and therefore there was some deeper investigation needed and delay retrieving a valid U-Haul rental contract for determining liability of the occured date of loss that the renter caused damages to your vehicle. I see that a rental contract was finally confirmed for the date of loss and a video was reviewed to confirm the loss occurred as reported. I see an evaluation was conducted on the vehicle damages by a third-party and that as of this morning 8/1/24, your handling claim adjuster reached out to you by phone to discuss the Total Loss settlement amount options of Salvage vs Owner Retained, and that you confirmed you received the settlement report and will follow-up with the adjuster regarding your decision. Glad to see that this is resolving soon and we apologize for the delay. Thank you for allowing us to assist you. Sincerely, Complaints Liaison - Repwest Insurance CompanyReview from Sylvia S

Hello ********************, I received notice of your posted concerns here and I will do my best to assist you. Please note that Repwest Insurance Company handles the claims for U-Haul, who is a Self-Insured entity company. Can you please advise any other co-claimant name that *** be associated with your claim? Or better yet, do you have the actual Repwest Claim Number please? As this is a public viewable forum and not appropriate to share your personal info, please send that Repwest Claim # and additional Names information directly to me at E-*********************************** then I research the matter for you to get you into the correct hands. I am filing this complaint due to the unsatisfactory handling of my insurance claim by Repwest Insurance. After a move on March 16, 2024, facilitated by U-Haul, I suffered significant losses due to damages to my belongings. Despite submitting a detailed claim and a subsequent appeal outlining the unjust denial based on unfounded reasons such as alleged improper packing, Repwest has failed to engage in meaningful dialogue or reconsideration. The initial compensation does not reflect the extent of the damages, and the insurers failure to respond to my appeal underscores a lack of commitment to customer ********************** and accountability. I am seeking the BBBs help in resolving this matter, as Repwests actions represent a concerning lack of business integrity and fairness.Repwest Insurance Company Response

A driver in a U-Haul hit our parked car and the police report declared the driver as at fault. U-Haul used this terrible insurance company, RepWest, that tried to get us to accept a low ball settlement of 1/4 of the cost to repair our vehicle. When we refused, they gradually increased their offer over the next half year to 3/4 the cost. We used our own insurance, which then had to go after RepWest for the damages (subrogation). A year later RepWest again tried unsuccessfully to deny the claim insisting we resubmit photos of the damage. I recommend you use a different, honest insurance company with better insurance, that does not try to evade its financial obligations.Review from Dhruv K

I am writing to let folks know about this company regarding their lack of response to insurance claim for my car. The initial claim was filed on June 13th, and I have not received any communication since then (today is June 24th), despite my multiple attempts to follow up.This lack of communication and progress is causing significant inconvenience and financial strain.1. No response since the initial claim filing on June 13th 2. Unclear status of our claim 3. No information provided on how to proceed with car repairs 4. Financial impact due to the delay in claim processing I need an immediate update on our claim status and clear guidance on the next steps which obviously is unavailable due to lack of any human response. If Repwest is reading this - Please treat this matter with urgency. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.Sincerely,******************Repwest Insurance Company Response

Hello ******************, I received notice of your posted concerns here and I will do my best to provide a status update. I was able to locate your claim file with the name and email address that you provided, thank you. I see that Repwest received notice of your filed claim recently on June 12, 2024, as reported by the **Haul driver. The file was assigned to the handling claim adjuster who began prompt initial contacts to all parties involved to gather the facts of the loss on June 13, 2024 and started the investigation process. Please note that our business hours are Monday-Friday so it has only been 9 business-days since the adjuster spoke initially to all parties. We just received back the Appraiser's damage estimate as of this morning today June 25, 2024, and I see that early this morning the claim supervisor provided that update on the Appraiser's damage estimate via phone call to your co-claimant ********************, and the adjuster advised that with the repair process your auto shop may uncover additional supplements that we will work directly with them for if-so, and meanwhile that we were processing the a check for the amount of the Appraiser's damage estimate. I see in the system that the payment check has been processed by your adjuster and it is awaiting approvals and for accounting department to process the check. Please allow up to 48 business-hours for our accounting department to process the check, and then once issued please allow 7-10 business-days for postal mail delivery of the check coming from our ********** headquarters. I hope this status update has been helpful. If you have any further questions or concerns, please reach out directly to the handling adjuster so that he can assist you. Hello ******************, I have received notice of your posted concerns here so I will do my best to address your concerns. I was able to locate your claim file with the name and email address that you provided, thank you. I see that your claim was reported to us on Saturday, May 11, 2024, advising a mix-up with the delivery of your **Box portable storage unit that lead to moving the portable storage causing damage to it's contents. I see that ******* promptly contacted you during our next business office hours on Monday, May 14, 2024 to obtain your statement. ******* continued with the investigation to also reach out to the involved **Haul entities and ***************** to get their statements as there was two (2) components of the loss to consider; Coverage and Liability. Regarding the Coverage component - determination was made that the item damages would not have occurred had the **Box portable storage container been properly loaded and had the recommended furniture pads been used; as specifically there is a listed Exclusion in Coverage for "improper packing/shifting of cargo". Therefore, the adjuster sent you the Coverage Denial Letter. As for the Liability component of the claim - **Haul confirmed there was a mistake in providing the incorrect **Box portable container that led to the loss issue of having to relocate it and therefore ***************** approved a general liability payment of $1,995 for the item damages. On May 28, 2024, the adjuster had sent you the necessary property damage settlement release agreement to sign so that she could process your payment, and you returned it same-day; so that same-day May 28, 2024, the adjuster submitted the payment request for your claim. NOTE: It takes up to 48 business-hours for our accounting department to process payments and so they issued the check on May 30, 2024 from our ********** headquarters. I see that the adjuster had advised you via email that the check arrival can take ***** business for postal mail routing delivery. I see that the check had not arrived within those normal guidelines so incase it was lost in the mail the check was stopped, and a replacement check was submitted by the adjuster on June 17, 2024, and issued by our accounting department yesterday on June 19, 2024. I see notes from the claims manager in the file that per the inconvenience, they had approved our accounting department to issue the check this time via ***** Overnight Delivery Mailing. So I believe that either today Thursday June 20, 2024 or Friday June 21, 2024, you are likely to receive the delivery of your check assuming all is smoothly handled by the ***** carrier. Please let your claim adjuster know if your check does not deliver by end-of-business Friday. I hope these details provide clarification on the adjuster efforts and the timeline for your payment. Thank you for allowing us to assist you. Sincerely, Complaints Liaison - Repwest Insurance CompanyReview from ANIRUDH E

RepWest is the worst insurance ever. I had my accident on March 10th of 2024. I was given claim number and everything. I submitted all the pictures of broken items. The adjuster ******************** stopped responding and even after calling on daily bases the call always goes into voice mail. The Uhaul guys suggested me to submit again but still no response. I am clueless on what should be done now. Now I am at appox 5k loss. I don't understand why to represent a company when you can't handle it.Repwest Insurance Company Response

Horrible company. Put lies on my denial letter. The sliding door on my TV console was damage while loading. I told my adjuster I didn't have before and after pictures only pictures of the damages. First they tried to say I didn't have a claim because they don't cover sliding doors, then she said it was the moving company's words vs mine. Then she questioned why I took so long to file a claim. Then she said the moving company wouldn't lie and fasely put the damages occurred in transit. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY.Repwest Insurance Company Response

Hello Ms. ****************************** I have received your posted notice of concerns here and I am happy to provide clarification on the coverage you elected. I was able to locate your claim file with your name and email address provided. I see in the claim file that on Friday 6/14 you had an opportunity to speak with the claim supervisor who advised that the adjuster did speak with the Moving Help Company that you had hired to assist you with your moving labor services and they denied they caused any damages, and she confirmed that the coverage you had elected was specific to covering any "Direct Physical Loss damages caused during ONLY the Loading/Unloading process" (example: a moving helper is carrying a TV or Lamp in their hands and drops it breaking it, that item would be a qualifying Direct Physical Loss during Loading/Unloading process). But any damages caused by Improper Packing, Shifting of Cargo and Dissassembly or Assembly, would all be NON-covered exclusions. The claim supervisor recommends that you file your grievance matter directly with the independent Moving Help Company involved. We hope this provides clarification on the coverage you had elected. Please also note for additional clarification that MovingHelp.com is a marketplace listing of various independent third-party companies who provide moving labor services across the U.S.. The moving companies listed on MovingHelp.com are NOT affiliated with U-Haul, NOT agents of U-Haul and NOT employees of U-Haul. Thank you for allowing us to assist you. RepWest is the worst insurance company ever. No wonder I had 2 adjusters quit before I even heard back that my claim was denied. I don't know why I was even sold the insurance by U-Haul or why U-Haul uses this company other than to not have to pay out claims. I am writing to you in hopes I can warn others about this company. I had 2 **** delivered to my mother's home in **************, to be filled and moved across the country to my home in **********. Moving Help, your affiliate, hired two Felons to move my items. I had no idea, I stupidly trusted U-Haul that the people would be safe. [I guess it is a good thing they were not rapists or murderers.] I put $10,000 worth of insurance on one POD and $5,000 on the other POD. These people stole almost everything in one of the ***** I paid for the 2 **** to be moved across the country and delivered to my home. (One of the **** had every single box opened and dumped) with most of the items stolen from it. I lost over $13,000 worth of precious things. Your insurance adjuster with RepWest, finally called and let me know U-Haul will pay nothing for my huge loss.I hope you can prove that U-Haul is a stand up company, and not just a company that hides behind others.Repwest Insurance Company Response

Hello ******************, I was able to locate your claim file with the information you provided, and I will do my best to provide clarification. To prevent confusion, I see that you referenced "POD" as the product but please know that POD's are a competitor brand product, PODS are NOT a U-Haul product. The product that you rented was a U-Box Storage Container. Please also note that MovingHelp.com is a marketplace website listing of various independent third-party companies across the U.S. who provide moving labor services. The independent moving companies listed on that site are NOT affiliates of U-Haul, NOT agents of U-Haul and NOT employees of U-Haul. I see a note in your file that with the circumstances the MovingHelp Manager provided you with a Full Refund of the MovingHelp Order for total of $1,074.95, and MovingHelp also deactivated that moving labor provider company from their website listing and the MovingHelp Manager recommended that you should contact the Police to pursue actions against that third-party moving labor services company further since they stolen your cargo and checks. Since U-Haul has no-fault in this matter, and there is no applicable coverage for this U-Box loss since Theft is a specific Exclusion to Safe coverage; we can only recommend that in addition to pursuing the legal actions against the third-party moving labor service company who stole your items, you should also file your stolen items claim with your personal insurance carrier of your Home Owners or Renters policy as they might have applicable coverage for your belongings. We hope this information is helpful. Sincerely, Complaints Liaison, Repwest Insurance Company
