On June 24, 2022 my account was debited for $220 from Rent A Center without my authorization. That is twice the amount I normally pay. When I called the store about it, the acting manager **** tried to lie to me and say my account was set up for automatic payment when it hasn't been that way for months. They don't even have my new permanent bank card. Apparently, they used an old temporary bank card I had used months ago. Then they refunded my money when I told them I was going to file a complain because it was fraud they were committing. On Sunday June 26, 2022 they debited my account again for $156 after they had told me they erased all my bank card numbers from my file. They are committing fraud and stealing from my account. I say steal because I did not authorize these payments. Their excuse is their trying to bring their numbers up for their store because corporate was getting on their case. So apparently, their going to get their numbers however they can even if it's stealing from their customers. If this happened to me, then how many others had money taken from their account without their consent.
