Alert

In June 2020, BBB investigated Home of German Rottweilers' business practices. This investigation was prompted by the seriousness of consumer inquiries received by the BBB. Consumers alleged through their reports to the BBB that the business is advertising as a Rottweiler Breeder, publishing misleading listings of Rottweiler puppies’ lineage, and training and providing the puppies purchased.

Consumers are led to believe that they would receive a puppy with 6 months of health guarantee, including AKC paperwork, up-to-date shots and deworming, pet carrier for transport, Official veterinary health certificate, and a Lifetime Customer support. Consumers are asked to make a full payment totaling $700 dollars via Zelle app. Once initial payment is paid in full, consumers would receive a call from a third-party shipper requesting additional payments or they will delay the shipping.

The business becomes unresponsive and stops answering calls, texts or emails once the consumer starts to become suspicious of the business activities. The consumer did not receive refunds or a puppy.

Additionally, BBB requested Home of German Rottweilers to substantiate, modify or discontinue advertising claims made on their business website (http://rottweiler-pups.com/) that read:

"Home raised Purebred Rottweiler Puppies"

"registered & microchipped"

"All of our breeding females are imports out of the top European bloodlines."

"Almost every dog in their pedigree is a champion or a titled dog."

BBB's Code of Advertising Section 1 Basic Principles of the Code requires that advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB. Advertisements which are untrue, misleading, deceptive, fraudulent, falsely disparaging of competitors, or insincere offers to sell, shall not be used.

BBB also attempted to contact the company by phone but the company did not return the phone call. On July 17, 2020, BBB sent the business a final letter to request they address the issue. As of today, the company has failed to respond to our attempts to contact them.

Before you place an online order make sure to review the company’s website, see if there is any negative information about the company, or check to see if BBB has any complaints reported. Also, research prices for the breed you are interested in adopting; avoid wiring money using cash app or gift card as these payment methods offer no recourse or a refund.

Consumers with outstanding concerns are still encouraged to file a complaint for BBB records, report it to BBB Scam Tracker, but may also wish to contact the Federal Trade Commission.
