Smelly dog is an awesome place to take your dogs. We started there with an emergency day care and overnight for our 2 dogs. We called and went immediately there, the staff is so understanding. Our babies ended up staying for 3 days and nights. We received progress reports twice a day with pictures. I called everyday to get an in person update. I had never left these 2 pups anywhere before. They treated our pups as if they were their own. I highly recommend them to everyone. Be it for stays, grooming, or pet purchases. You can't go wrong with Smelly Pet!!! ?? ?? ?? ??

I had the most traumatic experience at Smelly Dog, and if you LOVE your pooch, youd avoid this place. Unfortunately, our groomer of many years retired and left the state, so we had been searching for a new spot to try out. We decided on Smelly Dog because of the proximity to our home, oh boy, was that a mistake. Upon arrival, I consulted with the groomer and provided specific instructions as to the cut I was looking for. The groomer expressed no concerns with my requests. However, when I picked up my dog, she was unrecognizable. It was THE MOST HIDEOUS grooming, ever. My baby was shaved to her bare skin. I hate it so much, I cannot look at her without dropping a tear, and thats sad. Later that afternoon, we arrived home and as were getting settled, and I observe my dog limping. Upon further examination, I realize that she has a huge gash in her back leg and blood is gushing everywhere. My heart dropped. I frantically called the salon, again and again, to no avail. Almost an hour later, I eventually speak with the receptionist and demanded a phone call from the owner immediately. Speaking with the manager was pointless and a complete waste of my time. She offered tons of excuses and not a single solution. I did, however, find out that the manager knew my dogs leg was bleeding, as the groomer notified her of the incident. This fact made me even more furious because at this point, I felt like they were trying to cover up the incident. I would have expected a phone call to let me know what occurred, and at the bare minimum, a briefing of the incident when I picked up my pet from the salon. I requested a full refund, in which she denied. However, she agreed that the haircut was awful, and offered to personally fix it. But what is there to fix, as my dog was shaved to her bare skin. My dog was not safe at this facility for daycare and I have $10,000 in medical bills from an emergency surgery that happened from her ingesting a foreign body under this daycares care. I had to reach out to them MANY times before even receiving a phone call back from the manager. And no call to check in how my dog even did after surgery. I am APPALLED by this company. I have vet records to prove my dogs blockage, surgery and cause of blockage. Even an employee told me they dont have enough staff to adequately watch all the dogs under their care. My dog was covered in her own vomit coming out and the employee told me she had been eating her food and vomiting it up ( A CLEAR SIGN OF A BLOCKAGE). If they were trained correctly they would know this. They also have in a contract I signed that they would call if dogs are sick to be picked up immediately. Obviously this didnt happen and the manager admitted that. No call from the owner of course and dont bother emailing them because they never replied to any of my emails outlining my concern for my dogs safety after she returned from daycare and vomited up artificial grass and garbage which they then told me it was probably eaten outside of daycare when they finally answered the phone a week after with multiple calls (my apartment complex has NO artificial grass) and the vet confirmed if it was done at home it wouldnt have been in her stomach at that time as it would have passed or been thrown up way before she returned home for daycare. But dont worry on their contract they say if your dog eats something on their property and damages it you have to pay for it but dont care if your dog dies from it and will not provide any compensation for vet bills. I never once asked for reimbursement the purpose of my reviews is to warn others of my experience and prevent another dog from being neglected in their care. Their contract states they provide due and responsible care but my dog got neither.
