On Saturday, June 8, 2024, a crew from Sun Valley Nurseries removed a Mesquite tree from my front property. During the removal, the crew used a forklift tractor, and while driving this tractor back and forth on my driveway, it allowed the striking and scratching of my driveway. They also sprayed WD40 to lubricate their equipment, and the oil sprayed onto my front walkway pavers and sidewalk, causing staining. In the course of removing large tree branches, some of my existing shrubs were damaged, as well as a crack to my driveway. I discussed this with the supervisor, who was premise during this removal, but he refused to address any of my issues. I am asking that this company repair said damages, or the reimbursement cost to me for having these repairs done by another company.

In November, I purchased a grapefruit tree from Sun Valley Nursery for over $2400. Sun Valley planted the tree and provided care instructions. After 8 months the tree is not thriving, despite fertilizing and watering the tree in accordance with Sun Valley's instructions and the instructions of 2 different arborists. These arborists both said the tree was planted incorrectly, with the root flares below the soil line instead of above (see photo below, where the root flares are not visible). This correct planing method is also easily confirmed with a simple internet search. '***', who said he was the arborist (not sure if he is an arborist, and seems to be an owner/manager) came to the house and with no detail said the tree was planted correctly (it most obviously was not, and *** offered no explanation or rebuttal to the root flares being planted below the soil line). *** has not returned multiple messages and calls. The tree is dying due to Sun Valley's negligence and they will not stand by their work.

4/10/22 Went to Sun Valley Nursery to look at trees, plants and ocotillo. Met Rod "manager" and discussed our wants and he offered design services through his company "Dreaming by Design" and said that they offer a free "at-home" design consultation. Said that Sun Valley Nursery would plant everything, including my personal cactus that were in pots in the backyard, and move them to the front yard to create a nice design.4/13/22 I emailed Rod photos of my yard and cactus so he would have the info so we could set up the free consultation.4/14/22 I texted Rod at his cell number which he gave me over the weekend to make sure he received the email.4/19/22 I texted again.4/21/22 Rod texted me finally 4/25/22 Rod texted pricing to me over the phone and said **** would call me the next day to get deposit payment. Told it would be 3-4 weeks before they could get to me.5/21/22 They came to plant. Rod showed up for the first time to my house 30 minutes late. Rod left early before the crew was done planting. A crew member gave me an Invoice receipt upon leaving.6/3/22 I texted Rod photos of all the plants that were dying already. 6/6/22 Rod gave me new watering instructions and said he would replace 6 plants 6/25/22 Newly planted tree broke in half where it was staked and taped at the very top. I immediately sent photos to ****, she said that was due to the wind and that the tree should have been double staked! I asked why they didn't do it that way? They planted it! She said Rod ALWAYS asks everytone about double staking the trees - I said, "no he didn't" and she said we told her we didn't need it and our landscaper would do it. We do not have a landscaper - I have a desert front and back yard!! They would not replace the tree.4 plants at the front of the house have died, 5 plants on the side of the house have died and I have a stub in my front yard which they say will grow back.REPEAT OFFENDER CONTRACTING WITHOUT LICENSE!! I PAID $3,156.00 for this transaction

Late, Pee, Broke Irrigation, Careless and Nasty - Went in 2x to talk about fixing up my front. Small job, but Rob (Rod?) (apparently the manager) was very nice and helpful. Scheduled job 3 weeks out. My 9 am crew didn't arrive so at 10:15 I called. Spoke to a woman who didn't understand why anyone would expect a call to say running 2 hours late. She hung up on me when I asked for manager's name. Then hung up again when I called back and asked for manager. Rob called me. Said he doesn't know why I expected 9 since he had a bigger job before me. And didn't remember telling me 9. Well what time did you tell me? Or did he expect me just to wait all day? Show up at 11 with no stone and sad looking lantana and droopy sage. Rob explains they cut the lantana back since going dormant. However, he told me at the nursery not to cut mine back until spring because a hard freeze will kill it. Which is it? Then one of his guys, while I'm standing there, goes around the corner and pees on the side of my house. (I'm not making this up.) I told Rob that I would prefer his crew asks to use my bathroom rather than pee on my house. He said something to him, but neither apologized. Then broke the irrigation, but no one tells me. (I was watching from inside since I had little confidence). I go outside to see them "fixing it". They go to put the plant in and I said I wanted to test the "fix". It sprays everywhere. They finish what they can, but they leave (without telling me) since still waiting for guy to come back with rock. Come back (without telling me) and start to "fix" irrigation again. I watch. Again, they start to put in plant without testing fix. I tell them to wait. I turn on, sprays everywhere. Try again by replacing more. Seems to work. Then throw shovels of rock on new plants instead of using bucket/wheelbarrow. I call Rob again, Doesn't get why I'm angry. They finish/leave without asking if I'm satisfied. Want warranty on irrigation fix. He threatens lien.
