Our water heater broke, so called our WARRANTY COMPANY, AMERICAN HOME SHIELD. The first plumber sent by AMERICAN HOME SHIELD WARRANTEE *** didnt know what he was doing. He said wed need a larger new base built, all plumbing connections redone to align with the new water heater, so it would cost us a substantial more than what was covered. I didnt understand these adjustments, since the new water heater was the same as what we had. The manager at the ********************* I spoke with, said there was absolutely no reason for any changes for the same model replacement. He advised I request a second opinion. ***************** was a plumber with AMERICAN HOME SHIELD WARRANTEE *** so requested him. Dom came out on his own to be sure that the base and connections were correct. He confirmed what the manufacturer said. ***************** was efficient, professional and went out of his way to prepare to do the job right as an AMERICAN HOME SHIELD WARRANTEE *** Plumber. He took the initiative, bought and picked up the new water heater quickly, For some reason, AMERICAN HOME SHIELD WARRANTEE *** continued to cancel Dom to do the job. They didnt care that hed already gotten the water heater and made time for their schedule for an emergency installation. I dont know why this *** at AMERICAN HOME SHIELD WARRANTEE *** denied us. Dom was stuck with the cost of the water heater he paid out of pocket, expecting to be reimbursed as his contract with AMERICAN HOME SHIELD clearly states, just as clearly as ours as a client, states we have a choice of their employed plumbers. A water heater replacement, considered a necessity must be installed within 48 hours. We were forced to wait SIX MONTHS! Dom tried to help us to no avail. But ***************** went above and beyond his roll as a professional plumber. I hope he dumped AMERICAN HOME SHIELD WARRANTEE *** He doesnt need them and will be more successful independently. SHAME ON AMERICAN HOME WARRANTEE DISHONEST PRACTICES!
