I hired ****** with GoldenHeart ********* about 3 years ago. He was not the least expensive of the bids I received but he was friendly, knowledgeable and I just had a good feeling about him. Everything went great for three years. No issues with my pool and he did a great job with upkeep. When I lost my job due to the pandemic, he worked with me on pool service with reduced visits.I was so happy with my service that I recommended ****** to a friend with a property management company who hired him for several jobs and my neighbor also hired him.Then this April, my pool went green for the first time. Not just the first time with ******, but first time ever in 10 years of living here, even back when I was hosting regular pool parties before COVID. Plus, I had just paid him to install a new pool motor in March so it was strange it would go green. I told ****** that I had not drained my pool in about 4 years but it was first time pool ever went green. He misunderstood that to mean I had never drained my pool in 10 years, no matter how many times I told him I drained it before I hired him. He kept insisting that I drain it.The pool went green two more times this summer and I had to go to ******* to fix it myself. ****** no call/no showed a total of three times this summer, I realized he was shorting me on chlorine tablets (only 2 when my pool needs 3 every week) and in July I noticed he had not changed my timer to run longer in the summer- it was only running 6 hours a night when it needs to run at least 10. At the end of September, I gave him a months notice that I would be ending my service at the end of October. He said he understood. I paid him for October ($75 instead of $100 since in Sept he didnt show up one week), and first week of Oct he didnt call or show up. *** asked for a refund and to end service immediately- he has not responded or refunded my money. Polite requests for my money back have gone ignored.
