This company Desert Pool Service, LLC was hired by us to do weekly pool cleanings and balancing. We started to notice about 3 months back that they would say they fixed something on our pool and then just charge our credit card for it. They did this without any discussion or agreement. Since it was only $150 we decided maybe it wasnt a big deal and it was something that we may have needed. We werent sure because we dont know what was replaced. I kindly asked ******* (the owner) to please verify any work with me before you do it so that I can give them authorization or it might be something I could fix myself. He agreed and said that would not happen again. Not even a week later he did the same thing, but this time for $175. He is claiming he changed a rubber ring on our pool ****** which really cost about $3 and is something that I could have done. He sent me a **** and I told him that we are not paying for that because we did not authorize you coming and changing that part. We had warned him before and he agreed not to do it, bu then he went and sent us a ****. We then terminated services with him and he sent a reply saying your services have been terminated. It didnt bother him one bit because there was no attempt to save us. Which is fine. But this is where the complaint with the BBB comes in. Desert Pools took it upon themselves to look up our credit card number from past online payments and manually started charging our card. They charged us without authorization for the $175 and then a few more times with other dollar amounts and even today, three months later they charged us again for some random amount. I have emailed them 10 times and called 10 times and they are clearly avoiding talking to me. These are fraudulent transactions and they are probably doing this to hundreds of other people in the Valley. This needs to stop. How do we trust doing commerce with local vendors when they can break the law and charge our cards.
