I made reservations for our family to eat at comicx restaurant on July 17 at 5:30pm. When we arrived at the appointed time, a tall young woman with glasses (no name tag) seated us at the far left corner of the restaurant near the bar. This was less than ideal because we came here so the kids can see the superhero figures while eating, and this side had zero figures. However, we didnt make an issue of it because we figured the place was busy. After we ordered our drinks, my wife took the kids to look around the place. While gone, I ordered our food from the waiter. When my wife came back, she told me theres lots of open seats and we shouldnt have to sit here. So I went and looked for myself, and saw plenty of booths next to the figures. I went and talked to the same tall female host and she said that the seats were reserved and we could not change seating. I then told her I also made reservations, so why is it that we have to sit in the corner of the restaurant, and that I brought my kids here to see the figures, not to see adults drinking next to the bar. She still said no, (which made zero sense to me) so I got upset and told my family we were leaving. When we were trying to walk out, we were stopped and told we could not leave because we had already ordered our food. Thats when the manager came out and spoke to us, and moved our seats to a better spot. The staff was great, we have no problem with the waitresses/waiter and the manager. Our concern is with the hostess that seated us. We want to know WHY she seated us there, when she can clearly see there were 2 young children with us, and WHY she couldnt change our seats when it was so easy to change once the manager came out. We dont want to make assumptions, but the only conclusion we can come up with is because we are of Asian descent, and she is prejudiced. I would like the management there to explain to me why that hostess seated us there and why she couldnt move us.
