      WIFE AND I GOT STORAGE UNIT WITH ***************************** BACK IN JULY OF 2023@ $25/MONTH. WE GOT SCAMED FOR ALMOST $4500 GETTING A HOUSE WHICH LEFT US HOMELESS SO WE COULDNT MAKE THE PAYMENTS UNTIL OCTOBER 2023 WHICH NOW THEY STATED WE OWE THEM $380. WIFE WENT IN WITH $300. THATS WHEN THEY REFUSED TO TAKE THE $300 TELLING MY WIFFE SHE HAD TO TALK TO THE MANAGER WHO WAS NOT THERE SHE WENT ALMOST EVERYWEEEKEND HE WAS NEVER THERE. THE **** ON THE OFFICE AND WEBSITE SAID THE CLOSED AT 6PM EVERYTIME WIFE WENT WHICH WAS LIKE AROUND 530PM THE WERE ALREADY CLOSED.WE COULDNT PAY ONLINE AS WELL. SO FOR ALMOST 4 MOTHS WE TRIED TO CATCH THE MANAGER THERE SO WE CAN PAY. COME TO FIND OUT THEY AUCTIONED R STORAGE UNIT FOR $270 AND WE OWED $380 THE STUFF WE HAD IN THAT UNIT GUNS,TOOLS, DADS ASHES AND BROTHER ASHES GONE. JUST ONE GUN ALONE WE HAD WAS WORTH $1000 AND THEY SOLD IT ARE UNIT FOR $270. COME TO FIND OOUT THAT THE MANAGER GOT FIRED FOR STEALING FROM PEOPLE UNITS FROM MY UNDERSTANDING SHE STOLE ALMOST $20K WORTH OF STUFF. WE R NOT THE ONLY PEOPLE THIS HAS HAPPEN TO THEY ARE FEW MORE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.

      Rented a truck with Uhaul and this was the location to pick up the truck. Reservation was for 12pm 5/31/24. Arrived at 12:15pm to see a sign on the door saying manager will be back at 9. Called storage king to have them contact the employee to get me into my reservation but this call went nowhere, as I waited 45 minutes and nobody called me back, or arrived. I paid for an Uber to pick up vehicle, and ended up having to pay for another Uber just to drive me back home. Also paid for a moving crew to help facilitate this move and had to cancel with them and incur fees for doing so. I am not sure why ***** would contract with a company with so many complaints of this same issue. Came home and cancelled reservation and will seek other companies (Penske) to help with a rental.

      I had missed my monthly payment and this storage facility used another companys lock on my storage unit until I made the payment, I paid the balance only to find that I couldnt access my unit. I emailed and called them for months which no one answered, the only time theyve ever called was when I missed the payment. Im currently all paid up and still trying to access my storage unit and the storage employee told me that the other companys lock is unlocked on their computer but when trying to get into my storage unit the lock wont budge even with the help of the storage employee. The employee told me that people from that specific lock company will be on the campus a couple of day later and that he will try to get it fixed and then would call me back. That was 3-4 weeks ago. I have called them numerous times when they are open only to be forwarded to voicemail, which I have left several voicemails. Im not on autopay and they pulled the money out of my account without my authorization this month. Im not only looking for a refund but to also get all of my things out of the unit and cancel my service which I let them know in one of my emails I sent. Its not fair Im paying each month to store my goods but not have access to it and Im not receiving fair communication from the employees or manager. I have been calling them so much Im not sure if Ive been blocked or if they are just ignoring me. I also sent another email in January but I cant find it. I have been dealing this since 11/22/2023. Im wasting my time and money.

      I have been dealing with an issue with them for 6 months - they had the wrong storage unit on file for me. My emergency contact received a panicked call from ***** in April (I never received a call first) that my unit on file/in my contract is not mine. We've been trying to identify where my things are, and I am not able to be there in person now to come check. We *think* we have identified unit number, based on notes I had scribbled down on my agreement, but that number was input wrong on the contract and in their system. I have asked them to confirm my items are in the suspected unit to ensure my belongings are not gone (all of my sentimental/meaningful property) Fear - were they in an unassigned unit & auctioned off at some point even though I have been making all payments on time? I have been calling multiple times a week to resolve and rarely get an answer. If they do answer, ***** tells me they will call me back tomorrow, they promise. I never get a call back. We have verbally agreed they will break the lock on my suspected unit to confirm my items are in there, and replace with a new lock, and will not charge me since this has been an issue on their end. They have said they will send a contract for this - that is fine. I have received one contract that is not what we agreed to - I called to dispute and they assured me they'd send me a revised contract - that was months ago. Each time I call I get a different story about having to check with a lot of people, including another person who might have the unit my items are suspected to be in? That's not comforting. are they delaying/hiding something? Either way this has taken way too much of my time, stress, and energy. I lost a lot of my sentimental items in a previous disaster, and all I have left are in that unit.

      My mom has a storage bin at Storage King in *******, **. It used to be Extra Space. We paid it every month all through the pandemic. We fell behind when we couldnt find jobs and the *** stopped abruptly. We asked them to work with us so we could catch up on the passed due payments. The manager, Chance, refused to work with us and instead he wants to sell our stuff. He didnt even call us til we called him. Then he tried to pass the buck by saying corporate makes the arrangements. He lied. Corporate told my mom that Chance has authorization to make payment arrangements. Infact, We didnt know the company switched ownership til we went to pay the ****. This is ridiculous. We dont want our stuff sold. What can we do to keep it from being auctioned off?We understand we own them passed due payments, but I feel that its unprofessional to not even try to work out a way for someone to pay their **** up to date. Every other place will work with you but this manager, Chance, he flat out refused. All of our families stuff is in that storage bin including our important papers and documents. Isnt there something we can do to resolve this?

      We make every collection attempt to every tenant to prevent a tenant going to auction. We make telephone  calls, send emails and lien letters. The customer still has a full week left to resolve their indebtedness. By law, storage companies are not allowed to profit by proceeding with auctions, so wed strongly prefer that an equitable solution is reached in the interim. Customer can reach out to our District Manager at ********************************** for resolution or our Chief Operating Officer at *********************************.
