On 12/31/2023, I purchased an AS IS, 2014 **** Econoline E250 cargo van for my business. While driving the vehicle on the highway in over-drive it drove okay, however, when I took the van out of over-drive the vehicle started to slightly jerk when descaling. On January 2, 2024, I took vehicle to AAMCO, the mechanic at AAMCO did a free road diagnostic test, then verbally quoted me repair prices too high for my budget. On January 11, 2024, I found the ******************************** located at ************************************************. I was told the supervisor was out to test drive a vehicle and would be back in ten minutes.**** the supervisor of Transmission and ********* quoted me a transmission diagnostic price of ******. **** called later and stated, "He found the issues with the vehicle, then he quoted me a price of $1,800 to fix the problem."When I arrived on January 12, 2024. around 6:25 p.m., my vehicle was not ready. ***** mechanic was putting oil in my vehicle. **** then explained he had worked on my engine. I immediately told him I didn't authorize any additional work on my engine. **** stated, "He called me four times and I didn't answer." **** asked for payment for work I didn't authorize. So, I refused to pay. When I asked **** to see the old transmission parts that he replaced, he didn't have them to show me. **** only had parts he claimed to have repaired on my engine without my authorization. **** then mentioned other work that was needed (8 spark plug coils, because bays 2, 5, and 3 are bad). I had **** write this information at the top of Ex. D for my engine that he would fix for ******. I drove my vehicle one block and realized **** hadn't fixed the problem. On January 15, 2024, ******************************** shop manager **** refused to refund my money. When I asked **** for the ownerships information, he refused to provide it to me. I called *********** for a civil-standby, then I was able to obtain the information.
