We went to the Travel seminar by Resorts Gateway. They promised so much at the Seminar we decided to join. My waif paid with her ******** express card the $2971.00 and I paid with my Citi Mastercard $2972.00. We got home and over the next few days we made several call to get quotes for travel. Never received any quotes after my calls. This is when we realized that we had been scammed. We called our credit card companies to cancel the charge. ******** Express cancelled my wife's immediately and said it was a scam. ********* refused and the saga began. After many letters etc., **** had totally refused to issue a credit. We also emailed the Resorts Gateway our upset and cancellation, never receive a response. ********* are now insisting I pay their charges plus their fees from the original $2972.00 to $4182.80. This is how they treat the valued customers. No responses and the bank just keeps dragging its heels. I need help to settle this once and for all.

We joined Resorts Gateway International and Vacations Gateway International on 4/26/2023, with the stated intention of saving money on vacations and getting rid of our timeshare. We were told that vacation savings would, in a very short time, pay for our membership, and that our timeshare would easily sell in a 46-month period for about what we had paid for it, because of sales to foreign investors. None of the above is true. The mailings for vacations which have come from Resorts Gateway International would have provided minimal, if any, savings over bookings I could have accomplished myself. Emails from your local agents suggest that I research the bookings I want to make, and then have your agent book them, even though there are no savings involved. The timeshare has not sold, and a check on your website listings shows a total of 17 listings for timeshares for that property, However, your agents have told me to renew at a cost of $495, even though their only marketing strategy will be to list on the website. There was no more mention of foreign investors.A check of BBB shows that *** has been in business only two years, not the purported seven from your presentation, and that *** has an F rating, not the A+ presented in the slideshow. Some of the 15 complaints (13 unanswered or unresolved) and 15 negative reviews to BBB list vacations where the sites were far less presentable than purported when the bookings were made. I am not willing to even chance that kind of ruined vacation. For the above reasons, we have not attempted to use *** services during the last year and will not use it going forward. I feel that I have been scammed for $6495 and am not willing to give the *** operation any more money, never mind a yearly $299 for continuing membership, or additional money for non-marketing my timeshare. I am therefore requesting a refund of $6495 and the cancellation of my membership. Contract attached.

My wife and I attended a vacation/travel presentation 7/21/22 sponsored by Resorts Gateway International (RGI). At that presentation, we purchased a platinum membership valued at $7,943. Representing RGI were *********************, ***** ***** and an associate from W ********. The selling feature guiding our decision to purchase was being told our gratuities and the alcohol package for all cruises booked thru RGI included. During our first attempt at booking a cruise in Sept, 2022, we were learned from ****** travel concierge that this was not a benefit on cruises. Gratuities and alcohol packages are a separate expense. As a result, we felt RGI's representatives engaged in deceptive/misleading vacation/travel perks to the customer. I requested a supv. and beginning in middle September 2022 my communications with ************************. *************) to share dissatisfaction and to advise we wish to request a refund in the amount we paid. *************** during this initial call in September and consistently and continually up thru November 2023 advised we could receive a refund from RGI after 18 months. She did offer a brokerage service VAC SVC INTNL to help facilitate a faster sale so we contracted at a fee of $399 for one year with no success for a sale. During my call to *************** Nov 2023, I again asked about starting the process for a refund and was adv to call her mid DEC 2023. When calling mid Dec, I was told *************** was on vacation until Jan24. Jan24 is 18 months from our membership purchase date. On Dec 15, 2023, I spoke to *************************** Supv who advised they don't give refunds which conflicts with what I was advised by *************** during all discussions. He offered 3 options, sell my membership on my own, try the brokerage service or they will place it for sale via (RGI's) network. I requested to put it up for sale via the company. Since my call to *****************, I have been getting zero cooperation. No return calls I request, no refund status and absolutely no communications.

On November 2, 2023 I went to a seminar that promoted big travel savings. I subsequently purchased a membership in a travel club in the amount of $6993.00 With the understanding that I could cancel with in a year and half and receive $5995 back. The promises of big savings was misleading at best however I decided to cancel my membership primarily because my wife has Alzheimers and I would not be able to take advantage of the so called big savings. The company has refused to honor our agreement and upon further investigation the **************** says that the company is not registered to do business in the state.I will attach a copy of my contract.Respectfully,***************************

My ******** attended a promotion @ Hampton Inn, ********** **. on 3/16/23, which was hosted by Resorts Gateway International. The product being sold was a *************** and they compared it to being similar to a ******* whereas; call them with vacation plans and they will get you the best price. This turned out to be a LIE. I was yold that this Club is NOT in perpertuity, and I am finding information now that this turned out to be a LIE.. They will not tell me about an Exit Plan and I am now stuck paying annual fees with no end in sight. I wish to just be rid of this company and will not be told how to accomplish this. I need help as I have no where else to turn to. At this time , I am more concerned about yearly fees as I know I will probably not get my money back. Again, I just want to be rid of this company. They are Fraudulent.

On 5/3/23 we attended a presentation by Resorts Gateway International. The sales pitch talking about value and savings and showed beautiful beaches, mountain scenes and cruises to wonderful places. Their website wasn't available to us for a week limiting the 3 days cancel time. We tried to book a ******** vacation oceanfront got a place in Marathon between two highways in a construction site. Value for $799 plus resort fees of $300. Next trip wanted a 2 bedroom/2 bath in Niagara Falls told they had none but we found some on their website never said they had none, would only give prices for hotel rooms which are higher than the house we rented. also forget the price match deal they it impossible to get. Never received anything for booking within 60 days per no. 7 on acknowlegement sheet. Impossible to talk anyone except travel team no one from Resorts .They seem to target seniors as that was all in our group. They should be shutdown. They suggested we sell on ********** but I would be embarrassed to tried to sell nothing for $10993. Please tell people to read the reviews before going to this scam.

Date of Transaction: 04/25/2023 We paid $7,993 for a membership that was not well represented .We were promised fabulous vacation at 4 star Hotels at great rates we would not be able to get ourselves. Not once have they come thru. The dispute is about scamming vulnerable senior citizens.Membership ID# ******** We had received a personal invitation to attend a seminar on vacations at the Comfort Suites Inn ********* **.They have you in a room with multiple sales rep, under High pressure we felt obligated to join .The discounts were not at all what they presented to us. We put in a dispute with apple pay (******* Saks) They recommend we file a claim with Better Business Bureau and Deputy Sheriff recommend we put in a complaint with IC3.gov This has been going on since April 2023.We have tried to contact Resorts Gateway International directly to negotiate a settlement but no results.

Thank you for contacting us regarding the complaint by our valued member. We are sad to hear this client has had some issues with the membership. After reviewing the  requests made from the member, we have quoted them  5 hotels and 1 cruise all within the savings when compared the general public pricing. In good faith, we will contact the client to go go over the benefits and best ways to utilize the program.

      12/08/2023

We have not been contacted by the company.

They have quoted us prices for hotels that we were able to get with our AAA or AARP memberships. What was promised in the presentation is not what is being delivered. We have asked to negotiate a refund and have not received a response. We as senior citizens feel we have been taken for a ride down the scam highway. How can you promise a $1100. a night room on New Years Eve for $247. and only quote us a 10% discount on every hotel stay we asked for.

*** maintains that member has been serviced and received discounts according to *** contract that the member signed on 4/25/23. Many attempts have been made to show members the value of their membership. Unfortunately we are unable to refund the customer for they have utilized the program and benefits. Again member had received 5 quotes, all showing significate savings well within RGI guidelines.  We urge the members to contact our customer service department going forward.

On Aug 25, 2023 we bought into this program after sitting through their presentation which we felt was done professionally by ********** (supposed mgr/***** Spokesman). We travel a lot so their numbers seemed like a good value. Claimed to be a wholesale company cutting out the middle man which would guarantee us best pricing. We were able to set up two trips - neither of which at any kind of savings but we felt like we wanted to let them know we are serious about setting up vacas. We found they are not a "wholesaler" ; not a "full service travel agent"; the presentation and the actual agents who set up trips are not on the same program. Documented we were to get 6 VIP Resort Weeks(told *** $399 for house or condo up to 1 yr in advance) and the agts have no idea what we are talking of; 4 Value Getaways( *** $399 up to 3 mos advance) - agts have no idea: Rental Cars were we to get 2 level upgrades and discounts -- agt told no disc on rental cars; Flights, this was #1 reason we purchased program.. Presenter told big discounts on business/1st class flights --agt informed us no discounts on any flights. Told Price matching 110% guarantee -- found 2 condos and rental car at significant less than RGI, yet,per agt no disc/matching on either. We have made multiple attempts to contact **********, mgr and his supervisor ****** and anyone at Corporate to contact us to explain what they committed and what we need to do to make program work as sold to us. FYI .. *****, vacation counselor, is only one that has attempted to get his mgr's to call. Previously, Our prior full service travel agts, we gave them a date range-where we want to go - how many days. They then find the best pricing for flight/rental car/cruise/condo,etc. We have to provide every detail to RGI agt -- not how it was sold to us. RGI agts didn't care of discounts for - military, status on cruises/airlines. Being retired we can be very flexible on dates. Member# ******* **** and *******************

Our customer service team will reach out to this member to offer guidance on how to maximize the benefits of the membership.  We encourage members to call and have a live conversation with a travel concierge to get the best pricing and itineraries.

      Customer response

      10/30/2023

We have repeatedly tried "communicating with travel concierge ".....never an answer to our issues. " We don't offer those discounts ".....sorry but that is what we bought per presentation. Our request is simple....Give us what was promised- VIP resort weeks, Value Getaways, discount condos/resorts (not just last minute), discount car rental, discount air travel at 1st/business class. We have been told by more than one Travel Concierge there are no discounts on cars, flights, and VIP dosen't seem to even exsist we have been told. So no this is not an answer to our issue. Doesn't management need to be involved if there is this big a disconnect between sales team and travel team??? Management won't even return calls.....perhaps deceitful at sales presentation? Don't have an answer since not being honest? We hope not but there are legal standards to a contract on both sides. We have done our side.

      Business response

      11/02/2023

It is fully disclosed that we cannot (nor can any reseller) offer discounts on domestic airfare. Car rentals are also difficult due to current supply issues in that segment of the industry.  The best way to use this product is through the Concierge. They can specifically tailor best itinerary/best price that will suit your needs. This is all disclosed in our contract and acknowledged by the member at the point of sale.  This is a lifetime membership that is still active.  We recommend that you contact the concierge to get the most of the program.

      Customer response

      11/09/2023

Per your prior message to BBB your concierge or mgt was supposed to contact us--Never Happened. There is still no explanation on *** which is in our contract and signed by 3 of your sales team. Next, there was commitment by ****, your national spokesman of 13 yrs he claimed, about flights, rental cars and being a direct wholesaler of vacationing ---FYI..he signed the *** sheet also. Lastly, of course we are still active as we paid over $9K.All we have asked is the program to work as sold. If there are no discounts, what are you selling?

On 8/28/23, we attended a RGI sales pitch wherein we were told that members would never have to pay retail again for travel. We signed a $8993 membership agreement. The presenter logged into RGI's "travel site" and showed examples of discounted resorts, cruises and hotels. The prices shown were significantly less than the prices shown when he logged in to comparative travel sites (Expedia, Travelocity, retail cruise lines, etc)...and that was before factoring in RGI's post-cruise rebates. Once we were able to access our personal log-in page, we tried to book our first travel and found no such similar discounted deals. On 9/5/23, we attempted to book discounted travel for a cruise and accompanying airfare, only to find we were quoted the standard cruise line retail pricing, and the accompanying airfare was well in excess of cruise line airfare pricing (i.e. RGI quoted $4600. Cruise line airfare was $593). While RGIs presentation made the point it could not offer great deals on stand-alone airfares, they spoke enthusiastically of their ability to offer discounted airfares as part of vacation package deals (cruises, resorts, etc). Hence, their discounted cruise and airfare package pricing was not reality. In short, RGI's sales pitch stated:1.Members would never have to pay retail again for travel services. RGI claimed their membership fees were how they made their profit and how they had the standing to offer highly discounted travel rates. To us, their claims are demonstrably false.2.RGI documentation and their sales presentation stated their travel specialists were professionals in finding discounted vacation packages, including (in this case) discounted cruise rates and discounted accompanying air fares. I have many emails with RGI personnel demonstrating this was also false, as we showed RGI we found much better cruise and flight rates through another travel company and the retail cruise line (that required no membership fee).STAY AWAY

      Business response

      10/30/2023

RGI offers a price match guarantee should a competitor's price be lower on an exact itinerary.  Thus, our members do in fact get the lowest price. We do not offer discounts on domestic airfare as they are simply no longer available through the airlines.

      Customer response

      10/30/2023

Why would I pay ~$9000 to use "price matching"?  Entire scam.

Please see my 10/29/23 email to BBB for a full description of the fraud we experienced, including multiple evidentiary attachments.  The initial BBB complaint space was not sufficient to explain ********* spectrum of fraud we experienced.
