Tropical Treasures has sold sick fish for sometime before I bought fish and was aware of this...I purchased many fish before I decided on discus. They are 50$ each and I purchased 7 of them. They sold us those and canister filters food not even meant for discus....they sold sick and stunted fish. I bought them between Aug. And Oct. 2023 and they sold me medicine for all this time to treat them...not effectively. Just to make the money. They tried to sell me fish with ich. Knowing I spend alot of money there...they did not care for the fish. There is no guarantee and they simply don't care. It's a bad buisness practice and inhumane.Business response

I would like to start out by saying we take this situation seriously. We are sorry that the customer's fish died after having them for 3 to 6 months.
Our policy is clearly posted in the store due to the sensitive nature of Discus, we do not guarantee them. However, we always do our best to help the customer if a problem occurs and it is brought to our attention right away.
Her claim of us selling stunted fish and selling her the wrong food is hard to believe. We have sold plenty of Discus to our customers and have had no issues. We sell our customers the fish food the Discus eat at our store. She picked out the fish herself she wanted. It was also brought to our attention after she had the fish in her possession, she posted pictures of how healthy her fish were to other fish site groups.
I do not know of any other store in the industry that offers a warranty of 3 to 6 months from purchase.
Occasionally fish get sick, and we treat accordingly. We do not sell them to our customers if they are not healthy. Our fish tanks are all separate to eliminate cross contamination. Discus are very sensitive and require a lot of attention and need to be fed twice a day. Hence, no guarantee. We have no idea how they are kept once they leave the store.
To keep Discus properly, they require a minimum of 1 water change per week and some people do it 2 to 3 times per week to enhance growth. Discus do not like stress so some tank mates, as in other fish, can cause an issue in their health.
I do not see how she is requesting a ******* refund on ****** worth of fish. With all the chaos on social media we are not willing to help her out regarding this outrageous request. This would create the wrong precedent by allowing someone to complain the loudest and get their way. Her request goes against the policy clearly posted in our store. See attached picture of the posted store policy.
