TriWest Healthcare Alliance does not train their **************** and Credentialing Staff properly or pay fairly. I was hired at $19.50/hr and when I was about to start training I was given a second offer letter with $17.87/hr, which I was required to sign, because I was on unemployment insurance and could not refuse a job offer. Then, when I had to leave the company to find a position that would allow me to make ends meet, TriWest refused to pay for my unemployment insurance benefit. This company does not care about being fair.

I have been with ************ for years and its not because I want to its because I barely have a choice if I want my medication covered. I reached the age where they stopped covering me for the youth insurance and they never said a thing. I got charged the inflated price for my meds and called them and they said they couldnt cover it or my visit because I didnt change my insurance within 90 days of reaching young adult age for insurance coverage. When we looked online for the form they said they had emailed us (they didnt ever email us) we watched the date change right in front of us. We asked the lady if we could talk to a higher up and she said ok but theyre not gonna do anything about it and she said that the supervisor would call us. Which obviously didnt happen. I knew insurance companies scammed people but I had never experienced it first hand before. I would love to give as much c*** to this company as I can so I can start seeing some change in the countrys healthcare system. ************ *****.

Worst ******* I've been assigned too. Referrals are often lost or incorrect requiring numerous phone calls from us to correct. Often, ************ doesnt have a fax or co tact number for the clinic they are referring to, so nothing hets sent and they don't contact the customer or the refferal agency to correct. We've even had an orthodoc appointment split where they sent my left foot referral to one location and my right foot referral to another.

Have been transferred to several departments asking for the Dexcom 7 monitor. Finally after weeks of the "Run Around," I was told that they carry the Dexcom 5 and I would need to go back to my doctor to see if there is a compatible device. Literally crazy on top of crazy.

      TriWest Healthcare Alliance Corp Response

TriWest is sorry to hear that this Veteran is experiencing challenges specific to obtaining this specific durable medical equipment. That said, this matter is not specific to TriWest, but rather to his individual VA ************** for which he is assigned. A review of TriWest contact records indicate no phone calls to/from the Veteran within the past two months.

To that end, two attempts were made to reach this Veteran via the telephone number we have on record and clarify that he needs to follow the direction provided by VA staff, but the Veteran's voicemail indicates it is full.

TriWest recommends he connect with his VA primary care provider about these concerns.

The *********************** (VA) utilizes TriWest Healthcare Alliance to schedule appointments for Veterans to non-VA facilities. They also coordinate payments to the physicians/facilities for this care. TriWest sent me to a healthcare provider to have a certain procedure performed. The procedure required anesthesia and it was given so the procedure could be performed. . . TriWest paid (or is in the process of paying) for the procedure but is refusing to pay for the anesthesia/anesthesiologist. I received to EOBs indicating that the anesthesia was not authorized, and nothing would be paid on it. I tried calling TriWest and tried all options fer a veteran and their phone system forwarded me to a VA call center. I tried again and used the option of a provider. When the person answered the phone and found out I was a veteran they transferred me to the VA call center. . . I called the corporate office and finally reached a person who placed me on hold for a long period of time and then hung up on me. It seems like it is Triwest's corporate policy to refuse to speak with a veteran. I believe this to be the case because at every turn they stop you from being able to speak with them.

TriWest Healthcare Alliance appreciates this opportunity to address ********************** concerns. While HIPAA privacy rules restrict our ability to provide specific details, we can confirm that a review of this matter reveals claims had been denied, as they listed an invalid authorization. Our claims team was able to make contact with the provider in question, asking for the claims to be resubmitted. We can confirm that the claims have been received from the provider and were recently reprocessed and paid, resolving this matter.Specific to the customer service concerns presented by ******************, we apologize for the challenges he had in getting this matter resolved. Calls from Veterans are normally routed to a central VA contact center, as required, where a representative should have been able to refer the matter to the appropriate subject matter expert.

the VA hires the Triwest to process authorization for the ****** of **** in the Community. Triwest takes that tax payer money they are getting paid with and hires a different company to do the work for them, then they keep the profit. Just so everyone knows, TriWest is NOT Tri****. Tri**** is a health insurance company for military personnel and their families. Triwest is not a government company at all, they are a private 3rd party company that the government contracts with. Again, the VA pays TriWest to do a job, Triwest doesn't do that job, they hire someone else to do it for cheaper and take the profit. this should be illegal to do with tax-payer money.
