The Florida State Bar and Arizona State Bar v Carl Robert Anderson

The following describes a government action that has been resolved by either a settlement or a decision by a court or administrative agency. If the matter is being appealed, it will be noted below.

On February 16, 2021, Carl Robert Anderson entered into a Supreme Court Order with the Florida State Bar. The Order settles allegations that Carl Anderson violated his scope of representation, diligence, failed to communicate with his clients, knowingly disobey an obligation under tribunal, and conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice. Under terms of the order, Carl Anderson was suspended from the practice of law for ninety-one days, effective thirty days from the date of this order so that respondent can close out his practice and protect the interests of existing clients. He was ordered to notify his clients, opposing counsel and tribunals of his suspension and provide the Florida Bar a sworn affidavit listing all persons and entities that were furnished a copy of the suspension order. He was ordered to accept no new business from the date this order was filed until he was reinstated. Upon reinstatement, respondent is further placed on probation for a period of two years. On October 13, 2021, a Supreme Court Order was filed against Carl Robert Anderson. He was held in contempt of failing to provide a sworn affidavit listing all person and entities that were provided the suspension order for February 2021 to the Florida State Bar. He was placed on suspension effective immediately, ordered to comply with the terms of the Court’s order in February 2021 Case, and ordered to pay recovery costs in the amount of $1,250. On May 17, 2022 a Supreme Court Order was filed against Carl Robert Anderson. He was held in contempt of this court order, dated October 13, 2021. He was disbarred from the practice of law in the State of Florida, effective immediately. He shall accept no new business from the date this order is filed until he is reinstated. He shall pay recovery costs in the amount of $1,250.

On July 6, 2022, a Final Judgement and Order was filed against Carl Rober Anderson, by the Arizona State Bar. In a reciprocal discipline proceeding in Arizona, the Presiding Disciplinary Judge disbarred Mr. Anderson and asses the costs associated with the disciplinary proceeding in the amount of $1,200.

This action is final.
