On October 25th, 2022 my wife and I had Desert Blind and Shutter Repair (***** is the owner's name) to the home we had just moved into, to repair a blind in our master bedroom that was broken and could not be rolled up using the attached pull string on the blind. The sliding glass door that this blind was covering is the only natural light source in the room. ***** replaced the clutch on the blind and it was working. The next morning I went to open the blind, heard a loud click and it would not roll up. I contacted ***** on 10/28 and he said he was out of the clutches needed. He offered to come out to my home on 11/1 to replace the existing mechanics/clutch with another type he had available. No show, no call. I got in touch with ***** on 11/4 and he apologized saying that he'd been sick. In the interim, we had no ability to get sunlight in our bedroom and decided that we didn't love the blind so we took it down. I explained this to ***** during that conversation and he said that our decision was actually going to save him money by not having to install the new hardware and that he would refund me the $108.50 by mailing me a check. Three weeks went by and no check. I contacted ***** via text on 11/25 to ask about it and he said he'd mailed the check the day after we last spoke. I then told him he should cancel that check as it may have gotten into the wrong hands. He said he would do that and offered bring cash to our home and leave it in a location we agreed on the next time he was in our area (*********************) and that he would let me know when he'd done that. Over two weeks went by and no contact from him. I sent ***** a text on 12/12 inquiring about the money, offering that he could Zelle or Venmo the refund to me if those were more convenient options. I have yet to hear from him. I went on to the ************ of Contractor's website to file a complaint but it seems he is not licensed with them and the BBB is the only recourse I have to get my money back.Business response

Hello... In all honesty after being sick and getting behind with work at the time and trying to catch back up I legitimately forgot to go over to your house for the refund of $108.50 that we had discussed about. Sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused.
I will definitely drop off a new check on Monday the 26th of December thank you ***********

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.
