My wife engaged Urban Wood and **** to build two custom dining tables for us. **** collected payment in full up front in November of 2022 and gave a 16 week timeline for delivery of the tables. During follow up, he assured us that everything was on track. Once he missed the 16 week timetable, he began the excuse-making and became increasingly less responsive. By early summer of this year, 2023, it became clear that he was not going to deliver any tables to us. We requested our money back multiple times to no avail. He then told us to file a grievance with our credit card company if we wanted our money back. Of course, he likely knows that the time elapsed from the charge to the fraud investigation on the card is too long for us to be successful there. Indeed, we were unsuccessful with that option, which we did pursue. He now has removed his company's online profiles, is no longer answering his phone or emails, and is enjoying not only our money, but the money of a lot of other customers who collectively detail the same story as ours on Yelp. He is completely fraudulent and an outright criminal.Initial Complaint

I ordered a dining table from urban wood phoenix through Etsy on April 5, 2023, and was promised delivery mid July, if not sooner. Its now 11/20/23, and I cannot get a hold of anyone about the table despite many attempts via text, phone, Etsy, etc. they took $2650.90 from me and disappeared. Etsy cant help because its been over 180 days, and my bank cant help because its been over 120 days.Initial Complaint

My husband and I paid Urban Wood LLC in *******, ** a down payment of $3383.75 on 4/29/2023 for a custom entertainment center. They notified us that it would take 15 weeks to come to our home, take measurements, and finalize the design plans. We had multiple emails and calls back back and forth and even went to their shop beginning of April to discuss the process, plans, and payment. We did not hear anything so we reached out to them 8/8/2023 and were told due to staffing issues they were running behind but would be out to our home end of 9/2023 to finalize design plans and take measurements. Did not hear anything so we reached out via phone and email 11/12/2023 and did not hear a response; at this time their website was still active. I called and emailed again today, 11/16/2023, asking for a refund and still not response. Their website and instagram account is no longer active. Multiple Yelp reviews in which people paid, did not receive their purchase, and were unable to get ahold of the owners. We are wishing to get a refund for our payment as no work was completed and our money was stolen.Initial Complaint

I paid half the cost to have a custom cabinet built for me. I have been completely ghosted by this company and when I did reach out for a refund because its been months without being able to get a hold of them I was told to dispute the charge with my credit card. They are clearly fraudulent and providing the product that customers are paying to have made.Initial Complaint

I paid for two custom tables on 6/1/23 and was told I would receive them in ***** weeks. I reached out after 16 weeks and **** and **** have disappeared. No response to any of my texts, VM, IG/facebook messages, emails... at this point, I would just like a refund. However, they will not respond to me. I made a purchase from Urban Wood Phoenix on January 20, 2023, and paid the invoice in full on the same day. The companys website indicated a delivery timeline of ***** weeks, with an expected delivery date of May 20, 2023.However, my experience with Urban Wood Phoenix has been far from satisfactory:- **5/2/23:** I inquired about the status of my order, and the company confirmed the ***** week delivery period.- **5/25/23:** Urban Wood Phoenix informed me that my order was delayed, aiming to complete it by mid-June.- **6/15/23:** I was told the order would be finished within the next month due to staffing issues.- **7/21/23:** They assured delivery by the second week in August.- **9/7/23:** After multiple follow-**** I was promised progress photos and a delivery timeline.- **10/2/23:** I requested a concrete delivery date by October 31, 2023.- **10/11/23:** Despite my efforts, there has been no substantial progress, and Urban Wood Phoenix continues to ignore my inquiries.This situation is not unique to me; several other customers have reported similar experiences, as evident from the Yelp reviews provided in the link: [Yelp Reviews](**********************************************************************************************************************************).I have attempted to resolve this matter directly with Urban Wood Phoenix, but their unfulfilled promises, lack of communication, and misleading website information have left me deeply dissatisfied and frustrated.I kindly request your office's assistance in investigating this matter and holding Urban Wood Phoenix accountable for their deceptive practices. I have attached all relevant communication records and invoices for your reference.Thank you for your attention to this matter. On 8/12/23, my husband and I drove to ************************* ******* to meet with *********************** at his Urban Wood woodshop. The woodshop appeared fully functional with the appropriate tools and projects in various states of completion. We spoke with **** about a custom table. **** spent nearly an hour with us in his shop. The following day, 8/13/23, we decided to place an order and contacted **** via email. ****'s wife, ***********************, replied to the email on 8/14/23, advising the cost of the table would be $1700 and a rush would be an additional $300. **** stated she needed our delivery address and would send an invoice. I replied with our address. **** then emailed an invoice for $2172.00 which I paid on 8/14/23. We were told projects were taking between ***** weeks so we paid the rush fee to hopefully have the table completed by Thanksgiving. We were not given a completion date at that time. I started reaching out on 10/4/23 by sending an email to urbanwoodphoenix.com. No response. On 10/11/23 I left a voicemail with no response. On 10/16/23 I sent a text to ************ with no response. On 10/23/23, I left voicemails on the main mail box and **** and ****'s individually. On 10/23/23, I also messaged the Instagram account asking if they were still in business. On 11/3/23, I opened a chat on their website asking if they were still in business. I have not received a response from any of my attempts to contact them.
