Over the last month, *** has repeatedly denied my surgeon's requests for authorization for an essential spine surgery to prevent my slipping spine from severing the nerves in my back. My surgeon repeatedly sent them documentation and images that provided evidence for the need for surgery. He had multiple peer-to-peer meetings with medical providers from **** one who was a pediatrician (not a neurosurgeon) and another who apparently lost his practice in AZ as due to a malpractice lawsuit. As a result, my health insurance company (Harvard Pilgrim) which contracts *** is refusing to cover any intervention related to this injury, even if I end up in the emergency room because of it.

I have been trying to get approval for a pain injection for over a month and every time I call in the request is denied and I get different stories as to what is needed. With all the insurance and providers I have had this issue has never occurred except with this company that has a horrible rating the the BBB.

Two weeks ago November 3 2023, *** approved and insurance paid for my cervical test injections which are required prior to cervical rhyzotomy. Today, Nov 13 2023, I was informed that my rhyzotomy had been denied even though test injections were successful. They let me undergo spinal test injections that they require yet are denying me the procedure that wil relieve my pain. My procedure is scheduled for 8 am. tomorrow. Barely 24 hours notice and no legitimate reason for denying. They dont want to pay for it.

I have Ambetter through the marketplace. Long story short, I have hurt my ankle and the pain has been so intense that I went to an ****************** because I thought it was broke. The ** PA ordered an xray and stated that my ankle was NOT broken. Thank GOD for that!!However, the ** PA advised me to follow-up with a podiatrist, which I did and the podiatrist examined my swollen foot and she tried to move my foot to evaluate the level of pain and the source. My pain level is at a 9 and she could not move my foot and neither could I because of the intense pain. She felt strongly that a tendon was torn. She advised me to stay off my foot and order a cam boot. She ordered an ***, however my insurance company AMBETT** Sunshine and *** ********************* imaging agency* denied the *** after over 10 days of stating the authorization was pending review. After calling several times, I was informed today that the *** Auth has been denied. My doctor submitted clinicals supporting the need for the *** and followed protocol. How is it allowed or even possible that as a HEALTHY consumer that this insurance company and *** can deny a test that I need in order to receive the proper treatment and possible surgery if the tendon is torn and the only way to know that is having an *** to rule out tendon tear? SUB STANDARD care. My job requires me to be on my feet and take care of patients yet I can not receive care. If I am unable to perform my job because of a company that lacks knowledge and hires people that lack medical knowledge will not authorize a simple test A group of nurses and physicians that work for an insurance company because they couldn't make it in private practices or hospitals have the power to check the box that says denied? *** suggested PT based on what?I need to have this test completed and I need and am asking for the advice. I need to be able to work and support my family.

I live in ******** and have meridian ******************* My Dr wrote an order for a ** scan on my neck because I have a lump on one of my lymph nodes and antibiotics did not take care of it and I have a family history of lymphoma cancer. ********** denied the ** scan stating not enough information and I have been waiting for over 2 months to get this looked at and I'm in fear of having cancer. This company is a joke and should be investigated by the government. They pick and choose who gets a test and are playing with people lives. I will contacting my state senator to see what can be done. It's no surprise they did the same with my Aunt she waited 3 months to get a Pet scan approved after she was already diagnosed with csncer, by the time they did the scan it had spread all over her body and she died 4 months later. This company in my opinion are murderers

I am a health care provider who interacted with this business for a case review of an insured patient. The peer to peer was with a physician who refused to indentify himself or provide any credentials to show that he is a peer capable of adequately reviewing the particular case. This is a form of systemic fraud-- denial of appropriate medical services under the guise of needing a peer to peer review. When the peer to peer review is initiated, it does not include a qualified provider for the insurance company.

I injured my left arm (wrist and shoulder) in a fall. The ** only performed X-rays, which showed no fractures; however, I am in extreme pain (which disturbs my sleep and impedes my daily activities of living and work duties) and have severely limited range of motion. I sought help through an Orthopedist, who believes that I have a torn rotator cuff. He prescribed an MRI. *** has refuse to approve this imaging. Without such imaging I cannot have a complete diagnosis, and therefore cannot receive the necessary treatments that would return me to normal mobility. It should be a crime for a bureaucracy to overrule a true medical specialist when it comes to services provided.
