Date of transaction: 2/20/2024 Amount of transaction: $130 Type of transaction: housing application *********************, a leasing agent at Southwest property sales and leasing told me over the phone on 2/19/24 that 8080 yavapai rental property in ******** ******* was available and had no applicants. My wife and I paid $130 to apply and our application was denied on the grounds that I am not employed. I am currently employed by XBS enterprises and submitted 3 current paystubs. My wife is expecting a baby and is a stay at home mom. The application did not allow us to explain this, only asked for employed or not employed. My income is over 2x the rent and well within application requirements. On the application denial forms it indicates that I lied about being employed and on my wifes (*****) application it indicates there was an earlier application submitted as the reason for denial. It doesnt make sense that we were given two different reasons for denial of the application. Now the company will not answer my phone calls or emails or respond about why our application was denied or refund our application fee.Business response

*************** via email to complaint# ********. The prospective tenant applied for a property my company manages on February 20, 2024 at which time this property had multiple applications come in. Our review process of an application includes, credit check, criminal check, proof of funds to pay and employment verification. Upon review, the employer listed on the application was contacted and we were informed as of Feb. 14th, the applicant was no longer employed with the company he had listed. Attached is a letter from owner of the company stating as of February 14, 2024 he was no longer employed. Therefore, I had to deny the applicant.
He was denied for falsifying his employment and lack of employment, based on those discoveries a different applicant for the same property was approved.
