We attended our first ***************************** auction in Oct 2023 in ***********. We had a goal of purchasing a vehicle for our son if the right opportunity presented itself. We found a few vehicles of interest including a 2010 ******** **** GL450. We were able to view the vehicle but there were signs telling attendees to look but not touch any of the auction vehicles. Now we know why. We bid for the GL450 and won with a $13,500 offer. This seemed in line with what the vehicle, with about 60K miles, would cost on the retail market. We paid another $2K to have the *** shipped to our home. When I got in the car I quickly found that the ** didnt work. I drove it home and found many other issues. Because we knew the ** needed to be fixed we took it to our local ******** dealership and discovered the many more problems like:Needed new battery Sticking thermostat Collapsed transmission mount Crankshaft pulley was damaged ** compressor needed replaced The repair bill came out to over $8,000!It's simple to ascertain that ***************************** doesnt even do a cursory inspection of the vehicles they sell for consignors. A quick look in the engine compartment, a flip of the ** switch, or a look in the ashtray containing cut wire ends would've revealed the vehicle had many costly problems. But rather than do this the company falls back on an iron clad as-is selling policy so they can just get their 10% reseller fee. Of course, this legal tactic places all the risk on the buyer. It is suggested bidders interested in a vehicle contact the consignor to find out information on any vehicle of interest. However, consignors for vehicles on the lower end of the price range do not show up to the auctions. They realize answering questions would only reduce the amount they could receive for their lot.I think requesting 50% of the repair cost is fair. I make this request knowing Ill likely get nothing but if one person reads this and I help them avoid getting scammed, it was worth it.

I am a dealer located in South ******* and had purchased a vehicle from *****************************. The vehicle was misrepresented by the seller with certain facts described in the description. This is known as false advertisement in our business. I filed a grievance over a month and half ago. ***************************** has done nothing except sit on the sidelines holding a portion of the money while the seller keeps dodging paying the difference. Seller agreed to buy car back. I paid ******* in full and am wondering why they only have a portion of the money. This is unlawful practice by dealers and auctions. I am not looking for compensation just what was agreed to as buying the vehicle back.

My **** Packard Clipper Lot #** was transported to ******* for auction on September 16, 2021 by ************ **** communicated with Beau setting up the details. My previous communications had been with *********************. On the way **** was offered $40,000 cash for the car. We made an agreement with BJ and had an obligation so the offer was declined. When **** arrived he was informed there were a lot of cancellations due to the hurricane but was assured many people signed up for online bidding. I watched through live stream. The bidding on the car was immediately rapid and abruptly stopped. The price was not moving. It stopped as quickly as it started and the car sold for $8,500. Everyone was in shock and ****'s friend called to inform him he had tried to bid on the car and the online bidding was not working. He was trying to buy the car and the platform would not accept a bid. BJ did not keep their end of the agreement to provide a fair auction. They need to void the sale or make restitution.
