This review is written based off our experience as well as comparing it to the 2nd ****** we had to see for a tongue tie revision since ********************** botched the first one ********* uses outdated equipment to perform this surgery to burn the tongue tie instead of using a laser like all other doctors. McKechnies way causes substantially more pain and she provides zero post surgery instructions which caused the tongue tie to reattach. She canceled our follow up appointment and never rescheduled. Her standard of care is below what is considered acceptable and our 2nd and 3rd opinions reaffirmed this and disapproved of her methods. She has a WELL KNOWN BAD reputation among other doctors in the valley area She was very professional, friendly, and empathic during the appointment, identified the tongue tie, and wanted to do procedure right then and there.She comforted us with saying the procedure only takes 5 minutes (which it does, our 2nd one was but not **********), its minor, theres minimal pain so knowing we needed to get this done for him, we cautiously agreed but we werent allowed to be in the room while it was done? But our 2nd revision the doctor allowed us to be present in the room 15 minutes later instead of 5, things felt weird. She left the room giving us very little comfort or support, it felt like she was in a rush to leave. Our baby was absolutely hysterical, screaming ****** murder! At the time, we thought this was normal but trust me it absolutely was not and is not. Our 2nd tongue tie procedure, our baby was in pain, crying, etc. but he calmed down after 5-6 minutes versus McKechnies procedure he cried himself to sleep 30 minutes later.

Hi *****, we are deeply apologetic for the negative experience you have had with us. It is our mission to provide quality care and support to all of our patients, especially our little ones. Every patient is different in their healing process and while most recover quickly without much pain afterward, unfortunately your son was one of the rare instances that the pain persisted. While we sympathize for you and your family, I would like to clarify a couple things: (1) Electrocautery is a completely routine and common method for a tongue and lip tie release and the risks of pain, scarring and reattachment were discussed at the appointment, where you signed a consent form that indicated these risks. Postoperative instructions and stretches were given and demonstrated by ************************ as well. (2) His two-week follow-up was cancelled due to an increase in COVID cases at that time, which was completely for the safety of your child. We had left a voicemail stating this and asked to have a call back in order to reschedule the appointment, and we never heard back. (3) We ask parents to step out of the room for the procedure as most parents are rightfully worried and/or scared, which poses a risk of distracting the surgeon during the procedure. Just as family is not allowed in an operating room at the hospital, the same rule applies here in the interest of the child's safety. 
Again, we are deeply sorry that your son had such a difficult time with recovery but happy to hear he is doing better now. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you would like to discuss this any further.
