I purchased the vehicle, not knowing the vehicle was burning oil and a high rate , which means it needs new piston rings, I have only had the vehicle for 2 weeks and have had to put 4 quarts of oil in it, tried to call them and resolve issue but they will not return my calls. They said they did a 120 point inspection on this vehicle. This will cost me **** to **** thousand to fix

*********************** listed a vehicle on ********** at a price below blue book, we contacted him and he didn't elaborate on details of the history other than to say he got it as a trade in from person who wanted another vehicle. Claimed he had another buyer lined up to look at it 30 min after we showed up who never showed and he went home after we got suckered into putting at $200 non-refundable deposit on it. After looking into the history of the vehicle a little more turns out it was sold wholesale by a dealer to another dealer on May 18th (6 weeks ago), then that dealer sold it to ***** a couple weeks ago. He listed the vehicle as for sale by owner on ********** even though he's a dealer and when confronted with that lack of transparency, he claimed most of FSBO listings are done that way (flag #1). He listed it as having 80K miles, it actually has 88K miles (flag#2) and when I asked him why - said something about it being in the 80s. When I confronted him with the fact that he didn't buy from a private party but actually another dealer - he said he didn't do a background check on the person he buys from and when I asked if he asked about the history of the vehicle he said he doesn't ask about those things, just looks at it's current condition - as if that's normal - most people want to know the history of the vehicle. He didn't seem curious at all about the fact that the dealer who had it listed in May told me it didn't pass their safety inspection and was sold wholesale instead. He wouldn't let us drive it to a local mechanic 2 miles away for a full inspection and required us to bring a mobile mechanic for an inspection. He had no business card. All these things started to add up then I looked at the BBB ratings and found 2 other complaints about a shady dealer who talked them into buying only to find some huge issue with the engine or something that cost a fortune to fix. We lost our $200 deposit but dodged a bigger scam. Stay away from this *********.

On September 2nd My dad and I went to look at a 2013 Ram 4x4 truck with approximately ******* miles on it. The sales man we talked and dealt with was ****. He stated that the car was fixed and rebuilt but it was in great condition. We took it on a test drive and it had no issues. We went to the ************ they suggested to take out a loan for the difference of $8,000. I did purchase an extended warranty from the ************ that cost an additional $2,000. On my way home, the check engine light came on. I took it to Big O tire in ******* off of ***************** and after an additional $1800.00 they said they believe it was all fixed. I took it home and again, the check engine light came on. I was then told the truck needed a new engine. I took it to Dodge dealer and they confirmed that the truck needed a new engine. I was contacting ***** during this time and all he was willing to do was ***** my mother $500 at that time. She stated, that was not enough and that if he was willing to do the "in good faith, like he said" then we would be willing to settle on half of the cost of a new engine. The engine cost $10,000. I would be willing to take $5,000 to split the cost. I only had 40 miles on the car when the engine was needed. 28 miles were driving it home and the rest was taking from garage to garage. The warranty would not cover the cost since it was sold to me with the issue and at least cancelled the warranty for me.
