After using the Avast Anti-virus and Security application for Android and performing a "Cache" clean with the free version my entire gallery was erased, documents were deleted, and every ringtones were deleted. I lost 5 years of memories of my kids, videos of my daughter ice skating, music I had made, and many other important data. It upsets me that a company like this can have a product on the line that can do this with no way of recovering that information. This application needs to be removed from the App store.Review from Ashley P

My Norton 360 plan was set to expire September 3rd. I had it on my calendar to cancel August 21st, just to be safe as the product was significantly slowing down my computer and I believe there are better products available. Imagine my surprise when on June 29th they charged my card for the renewal over two months early. I reached out to Norton customer service and they said this is a "Pre-authorization standard practice as credit cards expire". So, basically they want to force you into another year by charging your card early because they probably know you want to cancel, even though none of your documentation will state they do this. They refused to refund the service renewal. Now, it's Sep 3rd and I finally get a notification from Norton saying my coverage expires today and to renew with them. So there really was no need for the 9 week early charge. The only thing they did for me when I complained was downgrade my service so the cost wasn't as significant, which means there's no reason for them to charge so much for their product in the first place if they so easily lower the cost with the slightest grumble. So, if you find yourself in this boat, know that you don't have to wait. Go immediately to your Norton account and turn off auto renew so they can't scam you into another year.Review from M L J

I have Cancelled this product and chose NOT to renew in 30 days from now and cancelled twice on line at their web site. They have refused to acknowledge. I have always thought of Norton as a good security system my complaint is that everyday it seems they are engaged in trying to push more of their products on you My renewal is in Sept 31 days from now and they are showing that I have renewed. Twice I have told them online to a very user unfriendly system to NOT renew my account Can ******************** Help???Review from Eric R

Ive used Norton 360 for years. My Norton screen told me Im eligible for and upgrade of my online storage. When I click on the link, it takes me to the Norton website and says Im NOT eligible for this upgrade. I called tech support. I spoke with some extremely inept person in ***** (I believe). After ************************************************************************* to disable marketing pop **** I asked to speak with his supervisor. He placed me on hold. 5 minutes later he tells me that HE spoke to his supervisor. I asked again I would like to speak with your supervisor. He kept speaking over me to say that he is sending me an email with a case number. He asked me if he can log into my system, I said, No, I would like to speak with your supervisor. I again reiterated that I would like to speak with his supervisor and he said no supervisor is available, yet he just, Spoke with his supervisor. I asked to have a supervisor call me when they become available, he again stated that he setup a case number for me to email a screen shot. Again I said I want to speak with a supervisor and he said one will call me when they become available. I asked him will that be within the next hour? His response, I cannot guarantee.I dont believe for a nanosecond that I will get a call back. Its SHAMEFUL that a company that Im supposed to trust with protecting me and my identity has imbeciles working overseas that do not provide help or are capable of understanding. I 100% regret buying NortonLifelock ultimate plus. I paid almost $300 for a service they promised but won't provide. The whole point of getting this was to protect my bank accounts. It's been over 3 months and they're still not protected. I can't link Nortons site to my bank. I've called 7 to 9 times and only get *****. They promise to "Escalate" the solution and that a *** would get back to me. If they responded at all it would be weeks later and the problem would still not be solved. I gave them remote access to my computer twice and they failed to fix it. Now they won't even call me back. It's been over a month since I've had any contact with them. I've asked for a refund since they're useless and they just ignore me and say their team will get back to me, which they don't. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!Review from Sherry B

Decided to delete avast and stop using it. It could be that it behaves more like a virus than an anti virus program, or that they keep pushing paid spam-vertisement on the program. Even when it's in silent mode you still get **** pop **** Their prices have steadily risen over the years and is now $$. Their app snuck in some unauthorized approvals and I never agreed to them. That's low. When it billed me my bill was 30% higher than normal and that was why. Never agreed upon transactions. This program use to be so-so to use but now that windows defender has gotten stronger over the years I just use that and a malware program. I really hate monthly payments and wish they'd do away with these but no it's all about money and data collection these days. The minute I uninstalled it I noticed my computer speed doubled and it stopped bogging it down. I began to realize all the slow downs and light crashes I've had over the years was because of this thing. Say good bye to avast it is not worth it. Do be aware there is an avast scam ring as well that is not related to the company. If you ever get a fishy email it is this scam ring. Scammers are low lives that have no soul. Called in to cancel the AVG service, was answered by a man from a foreign country. I explained that i did not wish to renew. He then told me he sees I have ******************************** from ***** and another foreign country from my home internet! I asked why this was not addressed before I called to cancel and he said it was not coming through the vpn but thorough my local provider. He said if i do not have AVG that they will have access to all of my devices. He then wanted me to allow his "Manager" access to my computer to see where it is coming from. I told him I would have to ask the business owner if he would allow. He told me to just call back in when ready. I called my local internet provider where they confirmed that MY NETWORK IS SECURE and there is not any addresses from ***** trying to attack. I called back AVG and when ask stated I would like to cancel my account. He said I see you were just talking to my manager I can transfer you to him. I said I would like to cancel my account. He said ok he has to send an email to his boss and that it would take 2-7 days for cancel. Never got a confirmation email so i went online and chatted with "*******" . The Man on the phone never put in the cancellation request... "*******" was steadily trying to offer me discounts. I flat out asked to cancel, "*******" came back with more offers. I then came back with "I called in to cancel less than an hour ago and he obviously did not do so. CANCEL MY ACCOUNT" He then came back with.. thank you for holding i have initiated a refund. You will receive an email blah blah. I then asked for the name of the gentleman I spoke with. He was sorry to inform me that they don't have the option to identify that person, Id get an emailed survey and closed the chat. You can not talk to anyone other that the call center in ***** for customer service.Review from Michael V

After being a paying customer for a year I wished to cancel my payment and get a refund. The rep kept pressuring me to stay by offering deals. Eventually I was able to get my recurring payment refunded. Fast forward a year I got another recurring charge on my account, I guess I just assumed that by refunding my first one, I would not be charged again. But that is not the case. There are no stars for Norton from me but your format forced one. I needed to cancel an account for my deceased mother. It took two weeks of conversation and emails, including alerting the credit card to decline payment. While trying to answer email to Norton, I got a red alert from my ****** account saying this email was dangerous! They sent me another one, hopefully safe. When I sent in the death certificate copy to a representative, she informed me that it had to go to a supervisor and I would get another call and an email to finalize the cancellation. I am now waiting on the call. I have cancelled many subscriptions for my mothers estate but this one took the longest. The final blowOne representative actually tried to get me to transfer the service to my computer!Gen Digital Inc Response

I received a email saying I signed into my account at a different location. It was my VPN . I tried to login in with my ****** account it said it couldn't find me. I took my password and email and tried signing in again. Still refused. Clicked on reset got a message go to email address. I tried but my pattern didn't work. Tried my old tried resetting it again. Said go to email address. I am locked out of my phone. I have a worthless that I bought. Cannot text, or do tele health with my doctors. The email address is my friends and the phone number is my landline. Your anti-virus upgrade premium stole my phone.
