Over several years, I have had consistent, outstanding service and patient advice from SWS Computers. Recently, B... and N..., were very helpful in guiding me through the possible issues and options in dealing with a 4TB HDD that, without warning, became unmountable. The disk had successfully mounted in a new, flat docking station purchased elsewhere, but that unit triggered irritating, unexpected disconnections. N... recommended trying a toaster style docking station, thinking the downward weight of the disk would help to ensure stable connectivity. That did not resolve the issue.The docking station manufacturer, **************** recommended trying another flat docking unit before erasing/reformatting or discarding the disk. So I purchased another flat docking station at SWS, and tested the disc, but got the same result. Thats when B... stepped up and very patiently walked me through EVERY possible option to address this problem, confirming the details and costs with his senior tech staff. He thoroughly answered every question I could think of, including the costs and possible issues involved in the companys data recovery service, new disk cost options, technical pros/cons of HDDs and SDDs, and many other questions. He was very patient, thorough and especially good-spirited through it all.THANKS, Guys!!!Review from Acquinette B

I have used SWS for yrs and their service and quality of their repairs were excellent.I had a log in issue 12-30-22 and took crt to diagnosis and correct issue.Picked up crt after 2 days issue resolved and suggested options listed for further repairs noted.Did not use crt for about 2-3 days, when used noticed several scratches on screen and alt key was cracked and did not work.Returned to SWS ,issue was forwarded to manager, I was refunded the password reset fee and the diagnostic fee.Alt button was raised, is still cracked and screen scratches could not be repaired.My crt is permanently damaged and its only 2yrs old!I will no longer use SWS for any future computer issues.Review from Elissa P.

Treats customers badly when posting bad reviews. Update to the review I posted today: The supposed owner whos name is **** called me up and wanted to ask me why I left a one star review. So I responded the voicemail left was you would ask me if I wanted a diagnostic test done which they charge for when I called back. So I was under the impression they didnt do it yet and when I called they said they went ahead and did it. I told **** that and he got unprofessional and started laughing at me saying you wanted to pay ***************************************** and I told him thats not the point here. You did something with out talking to me first. And I told him he was acting unprofessional and its not how you handle customers. Hes laughed again and said you can come pick up your computer and never f#cking come back to my store. I said thats fine. Never go to this store people.Ok so my computer tower was not turning on and I brought it into sws for them to check on it. Couple of days go by and I get a call and they left a voicemail. The voicemail said they found the problem but havent done the diagnostic test yet and if I wanted them to do it let them know otherwise they will have my computer ready for pick up. I was like awesome. So I call back, the gentleman who answered said well we fixed your computer but we did a diagnostic test and saw that you need to replace some parts. I ask him so you went a head and did the diagnostic test without talking to me first? I told him the voicemail that was left said you didnt do it and wanted to see if I wanted it done. And I asked do you charge for that diagnostic test, and he said yes but we took it from the 50 you already paid. Im like ok. He said Im sorry for the miscommunication. That was on our part. Yeah I would say so sws! I lost a lot of trust with your company now.SWS Electronics, Inc. Response

****** brought in her ** because it was no longer turning on after a friend shipped it to her. We first dusted the ** out in full as it was substantial filled with dust an debris. We then determined that the power-on failure was due to an unplugged cable. Rather then just plugging in a cable and calling it quite, SWS felt that we could provide a better service for the labor that the customer had paid.. SWS went ahead and swapped NOPOST service for DIAGS and tested out her hardware so that ****** had a full understanding of her **s shape. We did not charge any further labor for this service. SWS determined the ******* 250GB SSD was failing at 94% health. We also noticed a Western Digital 2TB *** that was unplugged from its power cable. We determined the *** power plug was damaged and broken off into power supply connector. SWS advised customer of our findings asking if they would like any fixes performed. ****** then got upset with SWS stating that she didn't ask for further testing. I was then informed that ****** just wanted to pickup ** and take it elsewhere for a second opinion. I found this odd but closed the service out and had the system ready to be checked-out. I then got an alert from ****** regarding a customers feedback of 1 star. It was from ******. So, I called and she returned my call. I asked where SWS went wrong in deserving this 1 star review. She was upset that SWS dare to take further actions to diagnose her ** in full. I tried to explain "you've gotten further work and a better picture of your **s health for no extra charge and you feel that warrants a 1 star?" She replied "yes". I did indeed laugh since the shear absurdity of the response was astonishing. At that point I admit that I did curse and tell the customer never to return to my store. Understandably, this was not the most professional response in the moment, but it was in response to a person who was being completely unreasonable. At SWS we pride ourselves on providing a high level of service. We want to solve problems correctly and alleviate preventable failures down the line. We realize that there are some situations where a customer may not want to hear bad news. Our job is to diagnose failures properly and not to just tell the customer what they want to hear.
