Not sure what to make of this company after reading about complaints filed. Been storing since 2000s. Originally signed up for "lock in price" for a set number of years. Now they want a price increase. But before the annual due date, I can choose 18-yr storage at the current storage rate, or lifetime storage for a onetime lump sum price. On the phone they stated that the 18 years option is not available to me. (The lifetime storage quote was $1200++ more than the 18 year pricing). Then they stated that they could give me "special pricing" for lifetime storage since we have been clients. However, that deal "won't be available or listed online under my account." I must "call in" and speak with a representative. I requested an email stating all of the aforementioned conditions. I have not received any documentation about the various pricing that was discussed .My spiny senses are on high alert. Have read numerous BBB complaints over the years. Does any entity provide oversight?

I totally agree that the whole thing is a scam. I will not be surprised if people will not be able to retrieve their stem cells, when needed. I paid for 3 kids. They kept hiking the yearly fees. We decided to cancel the services. Had numerous calls, they keep billing us. In my latest email exchange they said that they will keep our accounts open and will keep billing us, regardless of our requests to close accounts. They threatened to send "dues" to collection and ruin my credit history. I think they are long overdue for a class action lawsuit.

I was offered cord blood collection for my son's cord blood for 5 years for free because eof his diagnosis. They said it might help in future issues he may have. So of course, it being free, I said okay. The paperwork and email state that after 5 years I could sign up and pay for family banking. I never did, because we do not need it anymore. But since then they continue to call me, email me, and tell me now after a few years I owe all this money for not paying after the free 5 years. I never agreed to any of that and never signed up for paid "family banking" . I'm still waiting for the closure and cancellation form they are supposedly going to email me....This company is a scam. Buyer beware. Never give them your credit card.

Do not use this company. Read the complaints, which point to significant scamming by this company, even years later. Specifically, they communicated to us when our child turned 18 that the account would no longer be billed automatically, so if we wished to maintain our account, we would need to pay manually or the account would be canceled. We declined to pay and assumed the account was canceled. Out of the blue we received a letter in the mail billing us for the last four years. When I contacted them online, I received an email noting that because the account was overdue, I needed to call and pay over the phone. Um, no. NOTE to BBB: After chatting with a representative, I attempted to file a complaint about this company, at the agent's recommendation. Whenever I click on the link to File a Complaint, however, I keep getting a message that the page doesn't exist.

I would definitely not recommend Cord Blood Registry for storing your babies cord blood and cord tissue..... its a big scam which they would do money and cord blood for there experiments,Here is my personal experience... They will offer you good price to beat all the competitors in the market, once you send the cord blood and tissue. they will get back to you saying after sterilizing your babies cord blood has bacteria and it can be still stored but there are very less chances that it would be useful in the future, then they will ask you to donate this for there research and sent me only the donation and closure form. They would refund the money for cord blood but they will charge for shipping and cord stem once they receive the closure and donate form , I was initially told that shipping was free, I spoke with my doctor and she mentioned all her patients went with CBR are facing same issue, there standards of handling are not good with CBR, I so decided not to store even cord stem with them and asked them to destroy the samples rather then donating them for their research, but they replied back saying that samples would be destroyed quarterly and next destruction was in September upon my request they sent destruction and closure form, so they were forcing me to send closure form now, they would refund the money for cord blood, so I decided not to close until end of August. so that they won't use it for their research.I would definitely not recommend CBR for storing your babies cord blood and tissue. Moreover the customer support person (*********************) whom I was working with was not even responding to my emails and calls, so I have to customer service gain to get in touch with them.

Don't put your Credit Card on file with these people! Automatic payments means that they will increase your yearly fee and charge you for it without your acceptance! This service is no longer needed in this day and age. I let my CC on file expire. When they called me about collections, I looked at previous emails sent to me. There were no emails offering a way to cancel this unneeded service. No online option for closing the account. I looked at all pages! The lady who called ***********************, says there is no way to close the account online nor is there any information on closing the account on the website. Terrible company who knows they're not needed. I had to pay them or they continue collections and credit harm.

In August of ****, my ex-husband and I signed up with CBR (Cord Blood Registry) to store my new born daughters stem cells. We paid several hundred dollars for this initial service. In approximately 2018, CBR contacted me via cell phone and told me that in order to continue the storage service, we would need to start paying an annual fee and I told them we did not want to continue the service. Last night, I received an updated credit score from my credit card company and my credit score dropped from 816 in August to 696 in September because CBR sent my account to collections. I never received any documentation, including a ****, from CBR. When I spoke with CBR this morning and asked them to provide proof that they had sent something to me, they couldn't provide a single piece of evidence, which also means that their collections company, AWA *********** couldn't have had valid proof on a claim from CBR. Since this morning, and 7 hours of work on this situation, CBR claims that they have removed the charge and closed the account, however, the damage done to my credit will take weeks to be corrected.

First, I know I agreed to the cancellation fee of $150. However, that was before I asked doctor if it was worth the cost of doing banking. She didn't say the process was not worth the cost, she left that up to us. She told me that with her delayed clamping, which gives the baby the best possible outcome, doesn't leave enough for collection. I told this to salesman. His response was (and I'm paraphrasing for dramatic effect), "who are you going to trust: a doctor or me, a salesman?"So I didnt wind up doing the cord blood registry and have now been charged 150. I disagree with this because I didnt just change my mind. I sought medical opinion. That should be enough to overturn the fee which prevents the customer from willy-nilly changing mindsets.
