My husband, who has since passed away opened this account in his name where we, he, I and our children reside. Since his passing SWG issued a refund check for overpayment on his account. As his spouse, I requested the refund be sent to me and provided documentation to verify my identity. A few days later, i received an email requesting i provide proof that I am his heir. I was told by the customer service representative that I needed to provide a will a trust or estate planning documents to recieve the refund in the amount of $72.00. I was told a department manager would call and I have not heard back from SWG since.Initial Complaint

I am really angry and upset with this company, “Southwest Gas” because they keep ignoring us and they refuse to provide us with gas and it’s been going on for several weeks. I’ve tried to call to get service and we are being told our address doesn’t exist or some other excuse. I tried to email to get help and they ignore us and state that, “due to the amount of stop and start service, appointment times maybe limited.” We weren’t even offered an appointment or anything and I been without gas since January. Everything is falling on deaf ears and I just want gas so I can cook my food. Is anybody going to help me?! Southest gas don’t care about customers and just want me to camp out in my own home. I’m sick of this stupid company treating me this way and I don’t deserve to be treated this way!!! Please give me my gas!Initial Complaint

I had an account with Southwest Gas until I moved out of my home in Tucson on November 1, 2023. When I tried to send a request to disconnect service for my move-out, I discovered a glitch in their website preventing me from doing so. So I sent them a message letting them know that I had moved out and what was wrong with their website. I have contacted them multiple times sense, because I keep receiving bills that would indicate they have continued charging me for gas someone else used in November and December. They continue to be unresponsive. I will not be paying my final bill until they adjust it to the amount I actually owe.Initial Complaint

Southwest Gas issued my July bill noting that there was a billing problem for the previous 12 months. The bill itself states that there was an overpayment "You will see a credit on your bill listed as “Billing Adjustment” for an overbilled amount of therms used. This error has been fixed, and your future bills will not be impacted." The bill then gives credit for previous payments and shows a new charge for the correct amount, which is lower than the previous payment. This credit and re-billing amounts to a $46.87 credit. However, they then add a single line called "Applicable Revenue Taxes" for $188.82 which was explained to be the tax on the corrected charges for the 12 months. The taxes on the incorrect amounts are already paid so they are charging me double taxes. In short, in their attempt to correct an overcharge of $46 dollars over the past year, they have added taxes to the new charges and ended up billing me $142 more for the past 12 months. They need to correct their mistake and credit me back the Taxes. There is no way an overbilling for Therms on their behalf should result in me paying more money to them. Furthermore, I am on auto pay- so their indiscriminate attempt to overbill me simply hits my bank account with no explanation.Initial Complaint

On Jan 3, I ended service at 2717 N Richey Blvd. When I received the final bill for 3 weeks of service (Dec 13 - Jan 3), it was for $422.94. That is over 4x the typical monthly bill and the house was vacant during that time. I spoke to a representative who stated that it was an issue with their equipment at the meter and that they had sent someone out a few days later to fix it. The representative stated that the bill would be adjusted because the issue was with their equipment. I've now had 6 calls with various representatives and managers and the bill has not been adjusted. Once the issue was escalated, the managers have reversed course and told me that the representatives I originally spoke to were wrong and the bill reflects my usage. Not only was the home vacant during the billing cycle at hand, but if you look at usage for the past two years, you will see that my bills range from $8.00 in the summer to $120.00 max in the winter. In addition, had there been a leak, we would have smelled it when we checked on the vacant property or when multiple real estate agents and home inspectors where there for the sale of the home. Also, if there was a leak, SW gas would have sent someone immediately when it was discovered, rather than a few days later to fix a faulty meter. I am willing to pay $90, which is equal to 3 weeks worth of the highest bill I've had in the past two years. The rest needs to be adjusted and removed from my payments due.Initial Complaint

I recently received a call from a collection agency telling me I owed money to Southwest Gas from an address I moved from in December 2020. When I requested a printed invoice from the company (They no longer had me in their system), the charge dates were from 2021 an 2022 ... obviously not related to me. I called back, but because they had my incorrect Social Security Number on file, I was told they could not do anything until I contacted their customer service ([email protected]). I sent an email on Jan 25 but have not received a response. I'd like to have this resolved but SW gas appears to not be interested in doing so. Thanks.
