We purchase a Jeep Liberty 2005 and in less than 6 months have had problems resulting in money spent on repairs they would not make. They said that it was an old vehicle and what do you expect. The owner was very rude with us when I called and made my complaints about the vehicle overheating and needing fixed. They said it wasn't their job to do I told him they sold me a lemon and he laughed. A month ago the engine blue and we luckily had a warranty with the loan company to get it fixed at their shop. They have kept changing the time and date of when our vehicle would be done and as stated a month later we have still yet to get the vehicle back. They keep adding problem of why it is not done! And the meantime we have had to shell out over$1,500 for rental vehicle. Enough is enough we need our vehicle back! Buyer beware, do not buy a vehicle from this place! Also, we have yet to see the license plates! They have failed to get us our plates because they said we owed the down payment which we did pay!

This company was supposed to have checked out the condition of this vehicle before they released it to me; instead, over little time, problems- which could not have been missed by a reputable mechanic, became known to me- overtightened fasteners and engine components, gas compartment door seized and won't stay closed, engine over-revving, not checked with tachometer, cheap, plastic license plate frame not secure because the original metal holder underneath it was mangled and not extracted

To whom this may concern,   Hello, My name is ******* ********* and I purchased a 2012 Dodge Ram on June 19th, 2023, from a dealership called Affordable Autos. When I signed for the car, I asked the person selling me the truck at the dealership if I was able to get my oil changed at my house instead of taking it to the dealer and they instructed me that it was perfectly fine if I changed it at home just as long as I saved my receipts. Fast-forward and my truck breaks down. I took it to get diagnosed and they said that one of the rods in the engine was broken and another damaged, the catalytic converter, and the control arm. The warranty that came with the truck was supposed to replace any part if necessary. After trying and trying to get the warranty company to pay for the parts they denied me due to “Lack of Maintenance”. They switched their excuse on me multiple times claiming at first it was a lack of maintenance saying that I needed more proof that I did change the oil and when I changed it. Then after I provided even more evidence by sending pictures of receipts and sending them dates proving that the dates and miles line up with when I said I changed the oil; they said that I couldn’t change the oil at my house, I had to take it to the dealer to get it changed because they provide receipts with the vehicle’s information. I sent them pictures of the receipt for the oil I purchased and that wasn’t enough either. I feel that the warranty company is just as liable and should also be held accountable for this issue. The warranty company has many policies and regulations listed in the contract and they are not clear on this information from the beginning. The employee at the dealership selling this warranty for my truck should at least know everything about the warranty, he should not have provided me with false information claiming that I can change the oil at my house when the warranty company is now saying that I had to take it to the dealer. So, I then questioned the warranty company again but this time about the control arms and the catalytic converter, they agreed to look through the warranty to see if they could file a claim on either. During this process they finally discovered that they had not received any payment, therefore the money that was supposed to be deducted from the total amount for the truck that the dealership received from the bank as the deductible for the warranty was never given to the warranty company by Affordable autos in which case they kept the entire amount. So, after the warranty comes out and says this I go to the dealership where I got the truck and tell them something. The dealership told me that they were so sorry and that they were going to send it right away. So, I wait and wait and about a week goes by, and nothing. I called again today, and they gave me another story saying that there were other people in line also waiting for their payment to be put through. So not only are they scamming me, but they also have multiple other people they are scamming and taking money from and lying to them about it saying that they are trying to pay it when it should have been paid when I purchased the truck back in July. I only want compensation; I am asking for nothing more than what is owed to me after all the money I am putting into this truck. All of the parts I listed should have and would have been covered if there were not uneducated salesmen and uncooperative businesses. They have done nothing but try and walk away from the situation with my money in their hand due to a dispute over a technicality that is not specified clearly on paper or by the dealership/salesman.   Thank you for your time Sincerely,   ******* *********

Purchased a 2013 chevy equinox from business on 6-15-23. After signing docu.ents, they slipped a piece of paper stating we knew they needed to hold car for 10 days. We did not know until they slipped it to us. Was held for 38 days. Had major mechanical issues before and after received. Filed a complaint with Attorney General where they stated they would give us a reliable vehicle. Found out there was a recall and a lawsuit for this type of vehicle which they knew and failed to disclose. Drove vehicle on 2-5-24 and heard loud bang from under car. Drove it back where I was safe and crawled under neath. Whole exhaust , including catalytic converter, which they supposedly replaced was loose from engine. Also a hole in catalytic converter. That day we gave them a $ 3500 deposit which bank reversed due to fraud. All cars on lot have some sort of issue which is proven by their note to hold cars for 10 days. Took those 38 days also to get it to pass smog. They also had to replace sensors numerous times, plus the fuel pump. And car is now a paperweight. Would like them to replace this car or pay off the $7000 in debt I still owe. Have also been in touch with Westlake Financial concerning the contract. We're also told to lie to finance company if they called and told to say we left that day with vehicle.

I would like to seek compensation for repair costs.

Took my car to ajo Dealership where I purchased it, to be repaired, they repaired it and I paid the 200.00 deductible… when picking up the car I noticed a dent, the service center manager also saw it, he said he’d bring it to the lot managers attention, which he never did… they claim no responsibility, though they said they’d fix it, but they refuse to loan me a car while they repair the damage they did while in their garage

I had gotten a vehicle from the business stated. It had the check engine light on when I got the car. They let me drive around on an expired temp tag. I had to take it through emissions myself to get another temp tag. That's when I found out about the recall on the transmission control module. They had to have known about it once the VIN was entered. The car lot took my car and said that they replaced the catalytic converter in order for it to pass emissions I asked for paperwork and never received any. The transmission was slipping and I let them know. One of the higher ups told me to bring the car in and we went for a ride. He said they will get it fixed since there was a shortage on parts through Ford 2 months after I got the car. the light is back on and transmission is slipping they take my car again for at least 30 days to diagnose my transmission. I was told by different people a few things. That my transmission was being replaced on one occasion and on another I was told that my car was at Ford being worked on. Finally, I got a call and They tell me that there's nothing wrong with my transmission and it was the catalytic converter malfunctioning. They said they replaced it again. Again, I asked for paperwork and never received any. 2 days after getting my car back, my check engine light came on again. I went and had the codes read and it says O2 sensor and catalytic converter is bad. Meanwhile the transmission is still slipping. The check engine light has only been off for maybe a week or two max since I got the car a year ago. I received this email with an invoice from them after repeatedly asking for paperwork on the catalytic converter that was replaced. I have had nothing but problems with the vehicle and transmission went out. Now, since I've lost my job due to the car broken down. It's going to be repossessed.11K bad credit. i do have texts from different people at the lot as proof. I just want what's fair. They sold me a lemon and ruined my credit

    Ms. *******

First, you have had your vehicle back in your possession for several months. You purchased it from us in September of 2022.  At the time of purchase it had 125k miles.

You originally called us and brought the vehicle in stating the transmission was slipping and was bad. As you noted, we worked on your vehicle extensively over the course of two visits and came to a determination that we could not resolve the issue.  We then sent your vehicle to a local Ford dealer and paid them to diagnose it.  They did numerous computer updates and told us the transmission and associated components were functioning correctly, and after extensive diagnosis by them, they told us it was a bad catalytic converter causing the problem that presented as a transmission issue.  We replaced the catalytic converter and the vehicle was running well at which time we returned it to you.

A point you failed to mention is that we provided you a FREE loaner vehicle to drive the entire time we had your vehicle over both visits. You were never without a car (and put several thousand miles on our vehicles that you used).

Finally, your vehicle has a CVT transmission.  They do not work exactly like a standard transmission and what you are characterizing as slipping may be the normal function of that transmission.

We feel as though we went above and beyond to work with you and are sorry you don't feel the same.

Your car lot had taken my vehicle for one day the first time to "change the catalytic converter" the first time in Nov. Again I realize that you give me a loaner car to drive while you had it the second time. And I did put many miles on it as I used it to get to my job. However, ***** you were the one who test drove it with me and knew there was an issue with the transmission. You set it up for me to take my car to diagnose the transmission. I never really received any updates from anyone at the lot or shop. I went to Ford and there was nothing in their system for them (any) work on it or diagnosis of my transmission. Your lot also knew about the recall on the transmission control module. And knew about the catalytic converter being bad when you sold me the vehicle. Again there was no paperwork given to me for any of the so called work that had been done. When I got the car back from you my mom's comforter was missing and I found cherry stems in my car which I am deathly allergic to. There was white dog hair or cat hair coating the entire inside of my car and a babies car seat strap in the car. My passenger seat was laid down as if someone had been sleeping in it. I by the way did not get the car in my possession until October. I may have signed that I wanted the vehicle in September but did not actually take possession until October. Your lot also had me tell the finance company that I put the whole down payment when in fact I had not. Also had me tell them that I already had possession of the car when in fact I had not. My temp tag expired and had to drive on an expired tag for about 10 days in which I had to take it to emissions myself to get the paper that said it failed in order to get a new temp tag. Because the check engine light was on. The catalytic converter was stopped up. I still have not received a copy of any paperwork from you for the work that had been done by you for my warranty company or Ford to have on file for my warranty that I had paid 1700 dollars for. I do have the receipts where I made the multiple down payments. I was also threatened by your boss that I needed to bring the loaner car over to the lot because you were being audited and if I didn't that night that you would give my car back to me in pieces. I just wanted my vehicle to be fixed. You decided to "fix" it when I told you that Ford said they were going to have to keep it for about 3 months because of the national shortage on parts for the manufacturer recall. I tried so many times to get your boss to give me the paperwork so I could have the vehicle fixed properly, but he would just duck and dodge me. Finally sending me a bullshit invoice. I was told that it didn't cost a thing because the catalytic converter was under warranty from the first time you supposedly changed it. The second time your company told me that it was malfunctioning. In which I spoke to many, many certified mechanics who said they never heard of such a thing. All I'm asking is for what's fair and you seem to have no regards for the loss of my job and the damage to my credit. That's what makes you very bad people and business. I have done nothing but try to communicate with you but all I received were lies when I finally heard from you. I would appreciate if you could stop sending me sales invitations for another car. I wish I never had gotten this so called reliable car from you. Hope you have a beautiful day.

I purchased a 2012 Jeep Compass Latitude from Affordable Autos of Tucson 10/29/2021 3 or 4 months after purchase the transmission went out. I tried to take it back to the dealership to have it fixed and they refused even though I had an extended warranty that covered the bill. I called to make an appointment and was told I would be called back for an appointment and never was. I just found out recently that the car was sold and returned starting in 2017 around 2 weeks between the sale, return and resale. Along with a few more short sale turn around times after that. Right before I purchased it, the Jeep was sold June 3rd 2021, then sold July 3rd 2021, and then sold to me. This is very clear evidence that there were serious problems with the Jeep and they decided to hide it and scam multiple people instead of cutting their losses. This alone is proof of fraudulent activities on their part. Since I wasn’t given that information and it was purposefully hidden from me. I’ve called and called them about other problems with the car and I keep getting ignored. I want to return the car and receive the total amount of money back that I owe on the loan.

    Business Response

I just checked on your purchase and your timeline is completely incorrect.  Please see the attached CarFax report.  We purchased the 2012 Jeep Compass that we sold to you from an auto auction on 10/25/2021. We then sold it to you on 11/04/2021.

I am not sure why you are submitting a complaint in August of 2023 for a vehicle you purchased from us in November of 2021 (with 82k miles at the time of purchase).  I cannot speak to your experience after the sale other than to say that what you have described does not sound anything like how we do business.  We have repaired many, many vehicles after the sale over the years.  Our shop may have been backed up when you contacted us, and if you had an extended warranty we may have told you that you could take it to another shop so as to not be kept waiting, but that would be the extent of it.  Work done under extended warranties are actually profitable to the shop that does them, so there is no compelling reason we would not have done it other than the aforementioned waiting period.

I am sorry you feel the way you do, but I don't appreciate misrepresentation of our business and outrageous accusations like those you have made.

it's about my recently Purchased used car at a car dealership on Jan, 20 2023. I had them do some repairs on the car before they delivered it on the 1st of Feb to my home. Feb, 2nd I purchased a locking gas cap for the car. My neighbor ask about the new car and I got to asking her, (I don't know her name.) about my remote, she explained how Her's worked. Then told me if I have a problem with it the dealer can reprogram it for me. Later I figured it out on my own. Feb, 20 I went to my car and the remote didn't work. it didn't unlock the doors. The same neighbor from the 20th walk up with a friend. Isaid it wouldn't unlock. Her friend was laughing like it was funny. They left. I used my key to get in my car and tried to start the car. nothing happened. I tried the remote again on the door and no sound. after about 3 min. the same neighbor pull up with her carI said it's not working. Then I tried again it started working. As she walked away, I told her I cant have this happen I have appointments I can't miss. She said **** tour car. I then called the car dealer to have them pick up my car for repair. 28th the car got towed away to the shop. The 9th of March They come back and pick up the kegs. Now the car is still there and each time they keep telling me they are still waiting for the part. To this day I have no car and I missed one doctor appt. and I have two more next week. I need my car I am disabled I'm low on food and it's been too long without transportation.

    Mr. **** *********:

First, my apologies for the inconvenience relative to the your vehicle.  We have been waiting on what is called a BCM (Body Control Module). The issues you have noted were not the key, they were due to the BCM malfunctioning and draining your battery.  The part arrived this past Friday and we put it in on Saturday.  We were getting ready to deliver your car back to you and the driver's front window literally fell down into the door.  The regulator had failed.  We should have the part in today, and then we will put it in and return your vehicle to you (I say should as sometimes deliveries can be delayed).

I will have our service manager, *** *******, call you today and answer any questions you may have.

I bought car Jan 29, Got it Feb 1,I called Feb 20 for repair, remote would not work. The shop towed the car away Feb 28 Forgot the key. They came and got the key March 8 and up to now stillno car. To me with all the time wasted between getting the car and keys and long wait for car repair it shows incompetents. I would like my car as soon as possible. I missed 2 Doctors appointments so far and low on food now.
