I am not liable for this debt with DESERT WEIGHT LOSS, I've never had and currently do not have a consumer transaction or consumer contract with BROWNS COLLECTION ever. They did not provide me with the original contract as requested. This company has placed an account on my consumer report without verification or validation which goes against the *****Business response

The mentioned business is a collection agency. On every contact made with them I have attempted to reach a resolution. In fact willing to pay in full however they demand money use inappropriate language and try to intimate the customer. This business is in violation of fair reporting laws as they do not provide requested information and respond by saying they have recording of one admitting debt. Is there anything in place to hold them accountable for such harassment? I would like to be contacted by the owner/manger to resolve my case without being humiliated or yelled at.Business response

In response to the complaint filed by ***************************.
Browns Collection Service has been working with **************** for many years trying to resolve her accounts, at one point even accepting payments towards her accounts. **************** stopped making payments many years ago therefor many of her accounts did not get resolved. Browns Collection Service does not use inappropriate language with our consumers. We are not in violation of any credit reporting laws. As a matter of fact **************** recently reached out to us stating she would only pay her accounts that are on her credit report if we removed the accounts from her credit file. She was then advised that we cannot do that we can only put them on her credit report as paid and closed accounts once paid. She was also advised we have to follow credit reporting laws and rules regarding credit reporting and removing accounts from her credit report just because she pays them would be false reporting and a violation on our end if we did that. Shen then stated she was not going to pay her accounts and wait for them to fall off her credit report.
There has been no harassment towards **************** from Browns Collection Service staff. Most Recent communication we had with **************** was on 07/19/22 and 07/20/22 which was in response to communication **************** initiated. Previously to that we had communication with **************** via email per her request on 04/15/2015. Subsequently after that she had accounts turned to collections in 2016 and we sent **************** the validation of debt notice as we are obligated by law to do so.
We are willing to help **************** resolve her accounts in collections as long as we are not in violation of credit reporting laws.

I was contacted by browns collections in october of 2021 for a medical **** "which i never received " from ****************************. They said i owed them money. I told them that i would give them fifty dollars a month. They said that was not the minimum payment amount. I told them take it or leave it. They agreed and took a payment over the phone. They told me that my account was accruing interest. I have been paying them every month when they call. I have been giving them a hundred every month and so far to date i have paid ****** dollars to them on a **** that was only *******. As of today the say i still owe ****. And some change. Law states they can only charge 5% per annum. Those numbers dont even come close to adding up. Law also states they cannot report you to credit reporting agency's for one full year. Further more i have asked numerous times for a **** and a receipt. I have received one. When i called to ask whats up with that the supervisor told me they dont have to give receipts because im paying with a card and its on my bank statements. They are the rudest business i have ever dealt with and they are breaking numerous laws.Business response
